  1. Thanks guys, Did 'em both, works now! I guess it hasn't worked since I switched to GameEx... Hmmm...
  2. Well, a couple months ago I discovered the MAME compiler and went ahead and compiled my own mame following the instructions word for word. Worked great but realized that was the time my trackball stopped working. I'm sure the problem is in the MAME config (not in Gameex but the actual MAME config) but I can't figure out how to initialize the mouse without being in MAME32. I have hit the exe the compiler created but when I scroll down to the config option it starts the game on the top of the list??? Anyone know where I need to go to initialize the mouse??? Sorry if I'm rambling.....
  3. Wow Romlister looks like like a great program. I was hoping a utility like this existed! Hey... anyone experiencing download difficulties? Edit: Nevermind I got it... ...for some reason it didn't want to download but I tried it later and it worked...
  4. THANKS bkenobi! That is pretty much what I was looking for. Much appreciation.
  5. The next step is to get #1 hit when you type in "Best MAME Frontend" Believe it or not when I started building my first cab this is what I typed in and at the time I found MA. Just for the record MA is nowhere to be found in that search anymore.
  6. Thanks for the ideas Tempest. Never written script so the ability to do so is unknown, but like you said an .ini file would be the way to go. I checked out the controls.ini and it does list the games and the controls it goes with. So I can go with that information and get to work... ...but then again, anyone know how complete that list is?
  7. Also, do you think it would make a cool feature for Gameex to be able to select how many buttons your cab has and have a built in game filter or something?
  8. I'm currently building a smaller cab with only 2 buttons. That being the case, I only want MAME games that require 1 to 2 buttons. Does anyone know of any game lists or anything available for achieving such a task? Just curious what everyone's method is for building cabs with different #'s of buttons without going through EVERY game, thanks,
  9. Yes! Please tell...
  10. Yeah I noticed a lot of people use xbox's in these. Is that because a lot of car games run real slow in MAME?
  11. Here's mine: Thought I'd throw in the beginning pics for contrast. Original Cab: After restoration: (Went with the Williams logo on the side, after all it's my last name and it seemed appropriate...) Updated pic: Specs: Pentium 4 2.66 GHZ W/ 1.25 GB o' ram 40 GB Hard drive + 200 gb Hard drive 1 used X-arcade setup I took apart for the controls. (I was just gonna use the I-pac and such but I found a used X-arcade on ebay for cheaper than what I would have payed for all that stuff.) Transparent GLOWING blue USB Happ track ball Replaced the yellow coin reject buttons with blue ones so they glow blue along with the trackball. Parts from a cheap 5 speaker surround sound system from Walmart W/ subwoofer Arcade VGA video card 27" Betson Multi sync VGA arcade monitor To restore this cab first I used lots of Bondo Then laminated the the entire thing with black laminate ( I work @ a edgebanding/laminate warehouse so the laminate and t-molding was free). I laminated the control panel with brushed chrome stainless steal laminate for a killer modern look! Yes, the older pics are powered by Maximus. I just changed to GameEx a little over a month ago due to exiting issues...
  12. Just bought a pretty cool empty sit down cab with a steering wheel. I bought it planning to build a second cab for all the car games that just aren't logical with the standard. Just wondering if anyone here has successfully built one. What emus are you using? Steering wheel? What are your thought on it? I couldn't resist! Cheap, cool looking cabs are my weakness...
  13. Thats kind of what I figured. Thanks for the speedy reply.
  14. I would like my start page to have just the mame folder and my emulators on it. I like all the mame options gameex offers but want it neatly tucked away in its folder. I have found so far that when I use the flat menu option my other emus are on the start page (as are my intentions) BUT so are all my mame options. Is this possible? Thanks!
  15. "Statistics" I've been all over trying to disable this feature on the start page. Is it possible?
