    Requesting Help

Thanks for the suggestions. I had installed the latest FREE version of the Divx codec, so as you suggested I'll try uninstalling it and update to the latest version of ffdshow. Thanks & here's x'ing my fingers. MadMan Update --> ok, you guys/gals were correct. I uninstalled the latest Divx codec and installed the compatible version of ffdshow and the Divx tray icon fix and now everything works great! Thanks everyone. Now I'm going to try out my Logitech Wingman Extreme 3D Digital joy stick that I picked up at the Goodwill store over the Thanksgiving weekend for only $5. Wahooo! Here I come Centipede!

    Requesting Help

Hi everyone, I'm requesting help with my registered copy of Game Ex. I've been trying for two nights so far but have had no joy. Every time I try to brows a list that has AVI Snaps enabled Game Ex will minimize to the system tray and will not maximize. I have to use Task Manager to exit Game Ex. When I browse games lists that don't have any AVI Snaps enabled Game Ex seems stable. I've tried updating to the newest x64 MAME and re-pointing all of my folders to the correct locations but still no joy. Perhaps some one could point me in the right direction. Thanks for any help & useful suggestions. MadMan log.txt
  3. Bump...
  4. Bump.... I sure could use some expert help from anyone out there who is familiar with getting ScummVM to work in GameEx. Is there anyone out there willing to offer help? Thanks in advance MadMan
  5. I see your logic. Thanks for clarifying. I will attempt adjustments from my end.
  6. What's wrong with Bold? I like it and find it easier to look at and read. It's not shouting and it's not offensive. If you run the site and don't like bold then why don't you delete the option to use it. I feel offended that my post was countermanded/altered for no good reason. Thanks for your help I'm sure I'll figure things out.
  7. Ok, I've done the search on the forum and have read every relevant thread I could find regarding the setup of ScummVM in GameEx. I see there's a way to do it using bat files but the way described is very confusing. I've downloaded the ScummVM support files but I'm not certain how to implement them, I've imported the ini from the support files to my GameEx Advanced Config as Emulator #14 ScummVM and adjusted the correct paths. The only thing is that I have my games in a different folder on a different drive & they're Torrent Zipped. I'm guessing this is wrong and will not work. Do I need to extract each game to it's own separate folder and put them all in the "Games" folder of SummVM on my C:drive? What should I name the individual folders, does it matter? Do I need bat files? I can get my games to work outside of GameEx if I unzip them to a folder, so I know my games will work, just not in GameEx, .....yet. I'm also wondering if there's game pad support as I have a Logitech Dual Action game pad. Any help is greatly appreciated. MadMan
  8. LoL, nop, it wasn't the beer. That's only a tasty evening treat. I've been working on this for a couple of days and you just helped me out BIG time and I reeeeeealy appreciate your expertise. You are a scholar among GameEx experts. Thank you a thousand fold.
  9. You are a freakin' genius fRequEnCy. You totally ROCK! All problems have been solve with all thanks to you. Thank you, you're so awesome! I hope this thread helps others too. After drinkin' a ton'o beer it's time for me to crash. Now I can wake up and play trouble free, thank-you.
  10. Yep, that fixed it, only games just start in window mode. If i select full screen in the settings of WinKawaks outside of GameEx will it work the same inside of GameEx? Update --> finally having supper, will try it out in a minute & report back.
  11. ok, I set it to your specs and every time I try to run a game outside of GameEx i get a windowded start of the game but it says across the top of the window that the game is "Paused". ??????
  12. Ok, I'm cooking dinner again, good thing I'm on vacation and don't have to work tomorrow, plus I have a fridge full of beer. I guess that's dinner tonight, hic..LoL. 13. ok, I redownloaded Kawaks v1.59 and started from scratch and even from scratch in full screen mode without touching ANY default settings), I still get the Windows XP border flashing around the game in full screen mode. I tried looking in to the game-pad settings while a ROM is loaded and I'm STILL not really sure how to get my game-pad to work with WinKawaks. Could some PLEASE elaborate on that, much appreciated. Thanks The going MadMan.... So far I've burned my dinner to a blackened crisp twice by paying to much attention to this thread, arrrrrrh! I'm hungry!
  14. Will fix that and try what you suggested for WinKawaks controls. Be back in a few minutes with results.
  15. Ok, I set the GUIMode and EnableCPS2Rasters both to =0 and that solved the problem for Nebula. It actually changed the way Nebula looks etc, freakin' awesome! I'm gonna' check the WinKawaks ini for the same thing. I'm still not certain how to get my logitech Dual Action Game Pad to work with WinKawaks. i may have to resort to xpadder.
