Having a weird issue... not occuring with any other emulators... when trying to access roms for magic engine it does not show me all of the files in the 7z file. have tried deleting and adding emu profile and still didn't allow me to access.. below is profile settings. After installing the newest version of Gameex I have noticed that after I exit it takes 3-5 minutes for HideOS to close out and for me to get my desktop back. Everything loads fine with no issues and while in Gameex I am not having any issues.
-
I'll have to fiddle with it. I try not to mess with my gameex box too much... I'm a bit ocd and will spend a week just because I think something is not setup right. Reinstall the os about 5 times because the last install wasn't right... just about be murdered by the wife..

i am trying to find a theme something like this http://www.headsoft.com.au/images/gxthemeeditor06.png I know this is just an example of the level editor but I would like to have something like this. right now I am using media center v1 and it works great but I just want something different since I have been using the same theme for over a year...

I am trying to remember the name of an arcade game that I played around 1992. It played like smash tv... was named something like general chaos or major chaos... was a fun as hell shooter. it was a war zone setting... hopefully someone else has played this game and can remenebr it's #$%U&( name! Thanks

was just wondering if anyone else is having this problem... I use no$zoomer and have use used advanced emulator config to wait for the no$zoomer and no$gba processes.... I then have xpadder load a no$gba profile at run and then at exit load a blank profile in xpadder... the problem is no$zoomer loads and gameex runs the run at exit command which loads a blank profile... any ideas? I've not using a profile at exit but all that does is create chaos when I load anything else due to my joypad is still mapped for no$gba.

one thing you can do is set up your apps using the microsoft windows emulator profile. basically it uses your shortcuts .lnk files to create a list of programs.

Gamepad not being recognised if plugged after GameEx has started

This is just throwing something out there, it may work it may not... I know you are dealing with a 360 controller but I use ppjoy for my ps3 controller on my media center which creates a static joystick profile... I haven't tried this with a 360 controller and do not know if it will work... but is something to try... -
I have just added no$gba using no$zoomer as a frontend to allow me fullscreen. When I try to load in gameex it will load the emulator but then will go back to gameex with the emulator running in the background. I would assume Gameex is detecting no$zoomer closing and going back to gameex. Any suggestions how to get around this.. I know there used to be a workaround in regards to epxe and epsxecutor in regards to this but I cannot remember how to try the same method. No$zoomer is a frontend for gameex that gives you alot more control over rendering the screens for no$gba

final report on this issue just in case someone else runs into it..... ffdshow and gameex were NOT playing nice.... solution: install all codecs by hand.... and if you need a h.264 codec.... coreavc.... it's 8 bucks... but it was well worth it for me..... the codecs I installed to play just about everything haali media splitter vsfilter (subtitles) coreavc xvid ogg vorbis CoreWavPac this has covered every video currently on my pc... well that was fun two days.... this post can be closed... the problem is resolved... I just wanted to leave my experience and solution due to it may help someone else...
-
well.. I was able to get it working with the xvid codec by itself.. looks like I am going to have to install the codecs 1 by 1 because ffdhow is not working for me period.... if anyone else has this problem... uninstall ffdshow and install the native codecs.. worked for me..,,,

even more info..... can play mkv files with no problems.....

just tried the install with a stock windows xp install.... still doing the same $#%%$^%$^ thing!!!!! I give up and waive the white flag of surrender...
-
yep... using one I stripped myself.... gonna try a full install later tonight and see what happens under the same conditions...

just tried something new... reloaded pc from scratch again.... after I installed everything opened a movie in windows media player... worked fine... loaded gameex..... video tried to oad but didn't and all I got was audio.... afterwards tried to load a movie in Media player again.... and it started the problem I have been experiencing..... seems like something is happening when I first load a video in Gameex that is causing media player to act up. ideas?
-
what's really odd is I just did a full reinstall from scratch... loaded videos in media player... workurted fine... attempted to load from gameex.... didn't show video but was playing audio.... as soon as I did that the video problem recurred..... I'm giving up... this is making my head hurt ^^;
-
I tried the version of ffshow on the page and it did the same thing.... I use a stripped windows xp using nlite for my htpc and I've rebuilt the cd and gonna see what happens with it.....
-
Yes I was using the tryouts.... no I wasn't using them both at the same time.... I did make sure I registered them with Media Player... I did try a few other things while I was at it... I was running media player 10 and upgraded to 11... didn't help.... I also tried installed xvid directly and setting the plugins to use xvid... same thing.... when I use media player classic though it works fine.... and it's still doing the same thing in Gameex..... I have a feeling it's not Gameex... but the plugin doing the same thing... I'm just hoping I'm not alone with this weird problem....

I just rebuilt my htpc and gaming pc and reinstalled the pc completely.... everything is working fine except for I first installed the cccp and media player would not play videos fine and when I tried to play in GameEx I would get no video and the audio would keep playing and I could not exit out lest the one finger salute (reset button). but oddly enough I could make snaps.... So I figured problem with GameEx and cccp... so I reinstalled Windows completely (format drive, reinstall everything from scratch) and installed just ffdshow. same problem... except now when I try to load videos in media player... over 3/4 the screen is washed out. I know the PC is stable... I was using it for my main pc while I was waiting for replacement parts for my laptop I normally use as my main pc.... the absolute minimum is installed on this pc so I really don't think it is a software hardware issue.... Is there an issue with the newest version of ffdshow because this seems to be the common factor.... I know the last time I had my htpc up I had absolutely no problems throwing just about any video format at it.... and I am running the latest version of Gameex 8.88 and I did try the latest versions of ffdshow and CCCP. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated... in case anyone wants to possible rule out video card audio card etc... specs... 3.0 ghz hypertheading Intel P4 1gb RAM Nvidia Geforce 6600 128MB Creative Labs Audigy SE
