  1. OK, I found the video. it was on my office PC, netowrked and GameEX had been told where to find videos that I had recorder from my TV tuner so I could waych them. SO I moved the file becuase it was in the folder all alone. (all other videos are in subfolders so they aren't played immediately.) The question is still how do I change the setting that made it try and play the video automatically on startup? And how do I change the opening GameEx blue screen to eithe NOT show or show at the cirrect resolution? Thanks Shawn
  2. OK this is weird. been away from GameEx for a few months. Came back yesterdya played a bunch then DL'd the update. Restarted today and when I did I got the Blue GAMEEX screen with dude at computer (astill zoomed into the top left corner--still can't figure how to change that.) But now immediately after that it starts playing RISE OF THE VIDEO GAME a series I watched on Discovery. I cannot find the video anywhere on my harddrive and while it does stop immediately if I click the muse, it is annoying to have to do that. Why did this happen and how do I disable this show from playing? why did it install with the update? Thanks Shawn

    Intro Screen

can you tell me how to check this?

    Intro Screen

sorry should have provided more information. I am using a PC- S VIDEO out to rear projection LCD. Like I said, no functional difference in the program once it loads but that blue screen is all jacked. It's like it's way too big for the screen and only ahowing top left corner. Not sure about refresh rates but like I said the video card handles all other aspects very well. Not sure why that one screen is weird.

    Intro Screen

Been away from GameEx for a while and came back this morning and did the most recent update. I noticed when GE started the initial blue intro screen that says GameEx and has the guy sitting there is shifted down and to the right so that all I see is the top left corner of the image essentially his head and "GA" of GameEx. Now once started everything works fine. I know this is simply a cosmetic annoyance but is there a way to fix this? Thanks Shawn
  6. Well, I have a gameEx installed on my desktop as well, I usually test dats and mods there before moving it to my game machine. it still has ther multiplayer categories despite being up to date on all updates. is there a way to compare config files or something to show why the two are different? Thanks
  7. OK, the combination of tabbing out of the bezel and cropping to fit screen is the best compromise I have seen thanks everyone for the help. I'll likely run Crop for most things but I can always switch to full on those works well awesome guys
  8. looks like that's just images? I want to rename/sort the roms... treat me like an idiot. I'm wanting some GUI that sorts like named ROMS and let's me say only US or only english and let's me creat some sort of dat for filter file so that only certain ones are seen, like GameEx does for MAME stuff.
  9. never heard of no-intro before today. looking at the site they have a DAT file, if I put that in MAME directory will it filter these files? no-intro dat file
  10. Well, If I sort games by category, choose year or action or whatever, then press "M" i can then scroll down to multiplay but that opton is no longer natively on the main menu
  11. Reading alot about ROM management and luckily my MAMEs are mostly OK, but my SNES are a huge mess. I have sometimes 10 versions all named same, then I open it and it's french or spanish, etc. I downloaded Goodsnes but it's commandline, which is fine but I can't make it do what i want. I would love some sort of GUI based program that would let me filter non-english, and delete or hide games that meet a certain criteria. Is there an easy way to do this? Is there a predefined filter or cgf/ini I can download that will filter my existing roms anything would be great thanks Shawn
  12. Do what? I asked a few questions? you mean toggle bezels? If so, is it a toggle and remember the settings like controls for THIS GAME so that game will always show or not show it? Or does it toggle bezels off for ALL games? If this is not what you were referring then please clarify. Thanks
  13. OK, so I used spent part of the day downloading art from MrDo and I have an impressive collection of bezels and artwork which is great. Already have full set of emumovies and all the marques and cabinets as well. A few things, I noticed when choosing "use bezels for vertical games" in GameEx setup the help tag says to put the artwork in a GAMEEX subfolder not in the artwork folder of MAME as I did? Why is this and what difference will it make? Well mine works fine in the mame/artwork folder but the layout files that come with the artwork often resizes the playable area often to a size that is less than ideal. Now the image looks grwat but Rampage for example is maybe 40% of the normal size. I am running a bigscreen (60") and some games spread to fit the whole screen but anything with the artwork stays in a smaller screen format and at a much reduced size. So, if I remove the layout files will GameEx know how to handle the artwork? If I put the files in the GameEx subfolder will it handle thing differently? I tried running Advance MAME, knowing that it deals with big screen better, I lost all ability to use the bezel artwork at all. despite the bezels ON being chosen in config. I did like how well it cleaned up the resolution on the larger screen but configuration was tedious since I could not get it to run except as command line and configuring the controls was tedious for my x-arcade. So I abandoned it. I'm back to MAME32 and it works except for the resize issue. I have turned "use bezels" on/off and it seems to make no difference in this particular example. Currently I have "Use Bezels in Vertical Games" turned OFF and all the artwork shows as described. What does "Use Bezels" actually do then? In a perfect world, I'd love for the games to fill a certain footprint and the artwork to be outside that area, so games are ALWAYS a certain size. Is there a way to do this with my current config? I may end up manually pulling the artwork out that makes those specific games less playable. Too bad because some of the artwork is really nice and adds a lot to the ambiance of the play. Some games are fine. The Pacman series do OK despite large art, but Rampage and metalSlug, Golden Tee are overrun by the artwork. Is this a take it or leave it deal. You use the bezels for certain games and not for others? A cool option would be a hotkey that would allow you to TOGGLE OFF/ON the artwork in the game!!! That way if a game loads and it's not really playable, you hit a key combo, and it reverts to the correct size, then LATER you can pull the files out, rather than exiting out of GAMEEX, killing the file and then reloading the game again. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks Shawn
  14. I found that in the advanced setup wizard and yes everything was checked. after that I removed zinc, and spinner, and light gun games. Other than that everything is shown. Still not there. really weird. menu is small and fits on page completly so scrolling is not an issue. Any ideas?
  15. yes to two or 3 different ones. default and glossy and many others anyone
