  1. I'm new to the GameEx frontend so I do appreciate the patience!
  2. Well, maybe I'm a bit dense. I turned off all the "special" MAME lists including "All MAME Games". For some reason I expected it to then show the list of only roms I had in the list directly off the MAME menu instead of having to go another level deeper, but I guess that's not how it works. When I allow the "All MAME Games" menu to show, they all properly show there then. Sorry to waste your time.
  3. Hi Tom, Sorry for the delay - I was occupied with other things for a bit. I'm not sure where you're seeing a reference to XP64 - the processor and OS are 32bit as far as I can tell! You should find the ini file attached here. Thanks! GameEx.ini
  4. Okay, just to describe exactly what is happening: * I go into the MAME list, only Update List shows. * I do the update, it finishes and shows the list correctly. * If I use <back> to navigate backwards or exit GameEx while in the list then reload, it sticks. * If I use <home> or navigate into another emulator list, it disappears. This is also after moving the MAME folder to the root of C. At some point I plan to redo the entire installation as I've certainly been messing with it quite a bit. I suppose it's entirely possible that with all that messing around, something's come unhinged. I'll let you know if there are any changes.
  5. Last update, I swear. I just deleted all the game list files and rebuilt. Got the list, exited the menu then went back and they were still there. Exited GameEx, went back and everything's in order now. Perhaps one of the files had stuck permissions and deleting them freed GameEx up to recreate them properly. Again, thank you for the help and a very useful piece of software! This is really weird. It just lost the list again when I exited the MAME menu, went to a different menu, then returned. If I exit GameEx while on the MAME menu, it goes back to it but if I leave it, it disappears again. Sorry about this.
  6. Okay, sorry, I spoke too soon. The same thing happens when I update the list. Oddly, everything shows up correctly and launches from Highest Rated but nothing under my MAME menu.
  7. Hi again Tom, I switched to the default theme and initially, the MAME menu disappeared completely and I couldn't get to the start page. I switched the MAME config to show it under emulators and now it does show up. I prefer the Gamelaunch theme but hey, whatever works. Thanks again and let me know if you need more info on any of this. ** Also, had to change Flat Menus to NO.
  8. Will do. I've also just changed ownership of the folder to the default login (Which *is* an administrator account but... who knows?) Thank you so much for your attention to this. GameEx is a great front end and though I'm not a registered user I do plan on registering asap.
  9. Updated the list. In case it's of note, the gamelist.txt file in the \data folder does have the correct list. listinfo.dat is *not* being created in the GameEx folder. I am running as Administrator. Here's the newest log.txt
  10. Sure, should be attached. In reviewing it, I do notice that it has the line "Total verifyable roms: 0". But as noted, it does then return with a list initially. I have tried renaming the mameinfo.dat and other dat files as well. In the forums there were a couple people with that line in the ini file that said disabling touchscreen worked for them but other than choosing "no" for the touchscreen setup categories, I don't see an overall disable in the Wizard. Perhaps I'm missing something there as well. Thanks! log.txt GameEx.ini
  11. I've been using MaLa from GameEx so as to not have to recreate my games list (only using ~160 of thousands of roms) but wanted to integrate it into the MAME list in GameEx so it's less kludgy. Unfortunately, I'm running into a weird problem. Using MaLa, I created a folder with only the roms I want to use and put them in the default \roms folder in the MAME installation folder. So far so good. If I use MAME as an additional emulator, it works correctly but of course lists the rom names instead of the game names. When I use the MAME setup, then go to Update List, it runs correctly then once it has finished, it correctly shows the list of games. If I exit the menu and return, however, they have all disappeared and only Update List shows. I've tried deleting the infolist.dat and other associated files without change, tried running as Administrator, etc. The GameEx file shows no errors. I do note that while a new listinfo.dat is created in the MAME folder, it is NOT created in the GameEx folder. Copying it from the MAME folder to the GameEx folder has no effect. Anyone had anything like this happen? Thanks!
  12. Thanks, folks! I'll check out the options you've suggested.
  13. I didn't mention it before but I'm running XP on the console. If it is still a surprise that I'm getting some weird errors with GEmvoy, let me know and I'll send you some info.
  14. I will definitely check that out, thanks! At the moment, learning programming is a bit out of reach.
  15. I've written this batch file to load registry keys for different controller setups on the ePSXe: setlocal set ouateonetoo=%~1 set "ouateonetoo=%ouateonetoo:~0,-3%" set "ouateonetoo=%ouateonetoo%reg" regedit.exe /s "%ouateonetoo%" Sleep 5 endlocal CD "C:\Program Files\ePSXe\" It is set to run before as ctrlrreg.bat "[rompath]\[romfile]". It changes the extension from whatever it is to .reg then loads the file to the registry. With this set to run before ePSXe, it does succeed and terminate after the sleep but then returns back to the game menu. If I set it so GameEx doesn't run the batch file, the emulator loads and works fine. I've tried with and without the setlocal, the sleep, and the CD. My initial thought was that somehow the active directory was being changed by the process but nothing made any difference. I've also tried the reg restore command instead of regedit without any change. If I run the batch file then the emulator outside GameEx, it works properly. Anyone have any idea what might be going on here?
