  1. I searched in explorer... just zip files and folders...even tried removing all CHDs... I also tried moving my ROM folder to the root of the C drive. I don't doubt there is something fouling up the works, but can't seem to find it.
  2. Is there any good way to audit my roms and figure out which ones may be remnants of an old install?
  3. Posted this on the emumovies forum, but hoped for a more timely response on this board. I reinstalled everything last weekend and started playing with the emumovies downloader. It works fine for me with NES, N64 and Super NES... but when I try MAME or Daphne, It bails on the file search and provides a pop up "first pass validation error" I assume this is a nameing convention problem with my ROMs, but that is just a guess. Anyone else see this behavior?
  4. Yes... tested both on and off.
  5. I have now tested with several AVI and MPG files... all seem to play well. I will mess with the DVD Playback setting later this evening, but DVDs play fine outside of GameEx. Any thoughts as to the earlier posted error in the logs?
  6. I spent some time with this last night. AVI movies seem to play just fine in GameEx. Had some issues with WMV as noted above. DVD still shows the error listed above, but plays fine in Media Center.
  7. Previews play... But full screen seems to be a problem. Tried one of the Vista sample videos and it never started playing in full screen.
  8. I recently upgraded my cabinet and moved to Vista 64 bit. Improvement in MAME is noticable!! One thing I miss is the instantsheller utility. Is there something similar for Vista?
  9. I reloaded my system as part of the migration to 64 bit MAME. The specs are now: Vista Ultimate 64 bit Core 2 Duo 2.3 2 GB RAM I loaded the Shark007 CODEC pack and utilities and the DVD plays fine in Media Player and MCE but not within GameEx... Log shows the following: Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component. 17:11:07.4 9/16/2009: at DvdCore.DvdEngineClass.Init() at u.a(Boolean A_0, Boolean A_1, String A_2, String A_3, Boolean A_4) Thoughts?
  10. I've recently added a DVD ROM to my cabinet and want to play DVDs. When I insert the disk, I receive the Play DVD popup, but when selected, the machine pauses, screen flickers black and it returns to GameEx. Is there a brief tutorial to get this working?
  11. Not sure how feasible it is but I amconsidering a small touchscreen to controls certain aspects of the machine while it is gaming. I was considering the following: Control Arcade Ambience (On/Off) Display Jukebox controls (maybe itunes?) Display game info such as marquee (Marquee Magician) Display CPU load, Temp, etc. Another thought was to create touchscreen Admin buttons...
  12. I have my setup configured to play an MP3 track in the ambience setup. The setup is: Core2Duo E6550 2.4 GHz 2 Gb RAM Embedded sound and additional sound card for arcade ambience. I can play the same MP3 on my Macbook pro (core2duo) without a stutter. But when I play this in the gameex interface, no other activity, not even A/V running, it stutters from time to time. Thoughts? Suggestions?
  13. Would anyone perhaps have the original RedEx Theme background with layers? I would like to modify it to have a picture of my CP rather than the one currently in the image. Thanks Jeff
  14. Here's mine. Rack mounted Core2Duo 2.4 with two soundcards, TV Tuner, etc. 27" NEC Presentation Monitor Build is complete but working out bugs, such as my pinball plunger circuit Here is an intro/attract mode video I put together as well. http://gallery.me.com/jeff.miller/100015
  15. Not sure I would even really use the touch screen unless it could be used for Jukebox controls, iTunes or to switch views on the monitor. Imagine a tabbed interface (like multiple tabs in Firefox) that had CP View, System Stats, Jukebox, Cabinet/marquee/CP of original photos, game info, etc that was available separate from what is running on the main display. That would rock!
