  1. 1,310,720 is the highest possible bonus and you get it for dropping 17 or more bubbles with one shot. That's the key to scoring in Puzzle Bobble. While I'm replying to this topic: 10,814,220 ...and I promise not to spam the thread with my score entries for at least a week
  2. Today's score has been brought to you by the numbers 17 and 1,310,720 7,948,820 Still a lot to learn, but I'm getting somewhere. To be fair to everyone: here's a very useful FAQ for the game, which helped me to understand how it should be approached and how fundamentally wrong I've been before with some of my notions. I recommend reading it to anyone who wants to be serious about scoring for the game. The diagrams at the end of the FAQ are especially important. I printed them and keep them on my desk when playing the game, to have a quick glance before each level has started. Until I've memorized the stages it helps me to quickly remind myself what I'm supposed to do in each stage.
  3. Still improving: 4,207,160
  4. A better score: 2,861,630
  5. What a great game. I couldn't understand at first where those massive scores are coming from, then the realization came that not every stage in the game is supposed to be speedran, and most of the score comes from bonuses in just a few stages. 1,944,770 P.S. I had a brainfart while entering my initials - couldn't locate the dot and the timer ran out. If you can't accept this score, then my submission is the second one (with initials): 1,676,270
  6. I just noticed that the page I linked doesn't mention the most important thing: you can't shoot a single bullet from the beginning of the stage until you hover over one of the trees to trigger the train. If you do this right, you'll hear a 'choo choo' sound (start shooting immediately at this point) and a moment later the train will enter the screen. The train carries 6 powerups. Destroying it and collecting powerups is worth about 40,000 points.
  7. 572,000
  8. 544,100 I hope the fact that I had one credit left isn't a problem. This game adds 1 to the last digit of the score if you use a continue, so it's easy to spot when someone used it. I don't know whether you're aware of the Gunbird train trick, guys. So far I've only been attempting it when I get Doramasher as the first stage, maybe it's time I practised all possible scenarios.
  9. A chance to play Strikers competitively again? Count me in. A quick credit to get me on board, and I'll get more serious after the weekend 471,300
  10. 2,260,320 Think I'll try Tetris next.
  11. 17,568,790 I was hoping this Japanese version of DDP would have a Japanese announcer. Dissapointed.
  12. Hello guys. I've been lurking here for some time and finally decided to join. Wanted to start with a top 3 score for one of the games - here it is: 203,600 ...although looking at recent developments in Hi-Score Competition it could be a top 4 score very soon Played on settings specified in the OP, with difficulty changed to medium.
