  1. Not to sound like I don't know what I am doing but... I have generally just compiled the games over the years. I have heard/known of MAME rom versions, but the ROMS I have had worked so I didn't worry about it. Does that mean that MAME roms will need to be updated based on the version of MAME you are running? I will try using the most current MAME version and see what happens. Thanks!
  2. Mame version 0.49u1. GameEx.ini log.txt
  3. I have seem similar posts but I believe i have tried the fixes. Many games are not showing inside of GameEX even though they are in the designated ROMS folder and are playable through MAME outside of GAMEEX. I have turned off filtering, and set it to allow nonworking roms, as well as adding the games to the no filter list. Some of the games missing are all the Street Fighter series, Tekken, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. There are thousands of games showing and playing correctly. I have updated the list several times also. Thanks and let me know what logs/configs you need
  4. Duh. Sorry about that. Thanks! Awesome work!
  5. Love the design of this theme, but is there something that needs to be modified to get the custom backgrounds for each system? I can see them all inside the media folder, but they do not change inside of gamex. I get the emubak background on each one. Sorry, i don't know anything about theme editor and i have tried to look at the ini file but i am not sure what i am looking for. Do the images just need to be renamed to something specific. Sorry for the dumb question, but i would really like to get this them working Thanks!
  6. OK. The first part did not work. What i wound up doing is uninstalling steam, and installing to a new location "D:\Steam" and redownloading 1 game. That worked. I think i will just redownload all the games tonight (I did make a backup but i will play it safe). Thanks all!
  7. Sorry i should have stated that... i did install directly over it first to try that out also. My setup was retained but still not steam games showed up.
  8. Sorry, and no games run fine inside steam
  9. I have tried a fresh install of gameex (meaning i renamed my current gameex and installed a fresh install to d:\gameex like before). I have reinstalled steam over the top of itself.
  10. my games seem to be located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common"
  11. Nope. Still didnt work
  12. Reply i have tried both... meaning having automatic login disabled, having steam already loaded, etc. Right now i have auto login enabled and steam set to load automatically. I have only 20 or so games. I have not tried running explicitly as admin. I will give that a shot. Thanks!
  13. Oh yea... oops Seems like the log file has some stuff in there about an "Invalid or filtered path: " but all the games work just fine within steam... and yes it is active i have had a steam account since the beginning of steam GameEx.ini log.txt
  14. Hi All, I have been using GameEx for a while and love it! I have 20 or so systems configured and working. I am however having difficulty getting steam to work correctly. I have a custom menu for steam and when i select it it reads " - No Games Found -" Sometimes before going into the menu it will say 25 items under steam and other times it will be empty. Regardless when entering the steam menu it always lists no games. I have Steam enabled, automatic login/logout enabled, and have verified my account information inside of the setup wizard. Can someone point me in the right direction Thanks!
  15. Though that might be the case. I was hoping to use both a pic and video like my other emulators. But a video is better than just a pic Thanks!
  16. The same behavior works when inside the mame menu. Every sub menu under mame plays a random mame video.
  17. Exactly
  18. I guess i should probably clarify a little bit... my theme is a modified version of confluenceport. It has 2 changeable windows when selecting a menu item on the left. The top one displays the theme configured logo file for the emulator and the bottom one displays a random video from the configured video path in the settings. This works for all emulators except for MAME. If i add a video into the logos folder as previously posted it just replaces the system pic on the top and the bottom one remains blank. Does that make sense?
  19. Ok. I have attached those files. It is an existing installation, and all the emulators have video previews working. My Mame Videos are at C:\Assets\MAME\Snaps. The videos do not show at the main menu for MAME but when i go into that option, underneath is ALL Mame Games, CPS games, etc and all the videos show there. GameEx.ini log.txt
  20. Ok, Please forgive this if this is addressed somewhere else as i think it probably is. I looked for a while in the forums and could not find exactly what i was looking for. I have used GAMEEX for a year or so now and love it! I have 20 or so emulators setup and working. I have in the past setup MAME as an emulator in custom menu options. This has allowed me to have video previews from the main menu selection. If i set it up as " MAME" i am unable to get video previews from the main menu. Of course when i go into the MAME menu i see all the video previews in the sub menus (like ALL Mame Games, etc.). Is there a way to make the videos show in the main menu also? Am i just missing a check box somewhere? Thanks and again sorry if this is already been addressed!
