Having windows on a "small" partition simpy isnt an option my windows installs usually end up around 1.5tb with programs, games and now gameex.... I went down the road of trying to install it all to other drives and it never worked out.... too many programs and games that really need to be installed to programsx86 folder where they belong or they have complications... very same reason ssd,s are useless to me...

Okay so it,s that time again And I am beginning to backup important programs for a fresh install of windows 7.. I have a huge GameEx install around 700gb or so.... I dont really have the extra space to copy this to another drive unless I make the space which would be intensive to say the least...My question is should I do that or just retrieve my gameEx folders from Windows.old? I do realize this would make the install insanely long but no worse then migrating it to a drive and back again... Are there any risks of losing my gameex data? cuz that would be an absolute disaster as you can imagine...i have retrieved files from windows.old many times but never anything this large or important so Im not taking any chances of losing my roms... guide me masters...

GameEx now registered Sure does make theme building a lot less painful...lol. Anybody have any suggestions for this theme?
-
lol... hilarious... thanks for the incouragement guys Much to do but heres what I got so far...
-
I managed to snag a decent image of my pc case, the nzxt switch 810 had to remove the background myself of course but totally worth it for the novelty of seeing my pc under the pc games header...
-
Nothing specific off the top of my head but I would love to be pointed in the right direction.. emumovies I know of course besides that google has been my source for art I have been using in the theme Im modding. All things considered it,s looking pretty boss for me... But more sources for graphics could certainly help add to it... thanks.

After being directed to the graphics section of the forum it is clear I have much to learn...lol... But I can get obssessive about this kind of stuff... I seem to be making a lot of progress with my gameex install so far though between work and scouring the web for box art and other graphic elements... I managed to setup my pc games in gameex today which is huge because I have been launching them with a dock for many years...things are rounding out and I just popped in to look for some more graphics I can borrow from the forum... thanks again guys.

Ha! didnt know there was a theme section....yep im that new.... and wait theres a theme editor? where do I download it? cant find it... probly blind as a bat...lol

Still feeling out if I wanna make this background the entire theme or If I want to have every page be different... also the text was just a test... will be looking for a better text style cuz this one dont really fit the background I think... ps kinda hard to see the carbon fiber detail on the forum with the size reduction of the image but the background is a really fine carbon fiber...I have since made some slight alterations to make the background have more depth as well... each emulator has its own character render, console and logo like the gamecube above...

This was a rough from the other day still working on it and wanted input...

lol...I did I did play tenchu when it came out and I think I have both of them now... they were fun games but no ninja game I have played topped ninja gaiden black.... course I havnt played Ninja gaiden sigma cuz I never had a ps3 or 360...
-
Man I absolutely loved ninja gaiden black and would love to see that emulated and upscaled I am a hack and slash kind of gamer and n g black was an amazing revelation it is without a doubt the hardest game to beat I ever played...there were a few decent exclusives for xbox that deserve emulation... I can gurantee if someone made aan xbox emu that worked we would be all over it...

See I never got too even play a gamecube in its prime... nobody I knew had one and now in my late 30,s I get to rediscover the awesomeness that is gamecube In glorius HD on my bigscreen...I am loving it so it makes sense to seek out the original controllers to play it right. I have a wii and it is stored neatley away since discovering dolphin... I did kind of invest about 1800 bucks in my gaming pc so it serves its purpose well...lol... I am super excited about this dolphin bar and cant wait to get my gameex registration.... I have been modding the after dark gameex theme for this last week with my own images and getting some fantastic results... so you guys will see me around at least for a while because my gameex install is getting the works...

Thanks... this was a thought I had too... and after further research I have decided I wont be doing direct usb knockoff controllers.... too many little quirks and complaints from people.... for example the gamecube controller I was considering has no analog functionallity for the triggers... A huge red X there... Yeah Im going to have to go with the usb adaptors and official branded controllers.... at least for gamecube and n64... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ogl3b9EpwIU

Already using wireless xbox 360 for a long time now. the cool factor is for most of the og controllers excluding the gamecube and n64 which actually serve to make mapping easier and more original.... the gamecube controllers are pretty nice anyway... Not sure what xpadder is for though? the only emulator I could see that being useful for is mame or some of the obscure ones I dont play... I mainly use all the console emulators from nintendo up...not really interested in atari or most of those types..mame covers all the oldschool stuff I could ever want to play and I almost never touch my mame install...
-
I actually found that project64 BSOD,s my rig I was not too pleasewd with that at all...you might say I was pissed... so I do some research and according to the interwebs pj64 requires a very specific windows update to prevent the bsod... i downloaded the update and attempted to install it and windows tells me the update is not compatible... anyhow so now I gladly use mupen64 with the gui and its fine for me since Im not fanatical about n64 anyway... all other emulators are well covered for me...even some I will most likely never use...lol.. And on that note I have just ordered the Mayflash dolphin bar and a new set of motion plus controllers for dolphin...I cant thank you guys enough for the help... next payday will be gameex registration and more retro controllers... it looks like the "retrolink" usb controllers are exact molds... any input on these? I will be doing nes, super nes, gamecube and N64 retrolink controllers unless there is a better option..
-
Well this thread has sparked a few questions and debates in my mind.. 1. should I stick with my original wiimotes or go for the motion plus controllers? not sure if motion plus adds anything to dolphin or has compatibility issues... 2. Should I go with the after market USB wired gamecube controllers or opt for the official nintendo brand controllers with a mayflash usb adapter? 3. Does anyone have any other input about contollers for various console emulators I should know about? Nes, Super Nes, N64 ect? I see a huge box of controllers and adaptors showing up at my door in the near future and want to make the right choices....thanks guys.
-
Ahh! well now I clearly see this is a must have for any dolphin user...I knew of it in passing but didnt realize the bluetooth was built in....Thanks for pointing this out Adultery I am on this...
-
Not sure how that happened... I know I clicked on "general"... isnt that just a light bar? not sure what it has to do with syncing the wiimote...can you explain more? thanks..
-
I couldnt help but notice I have to open dolphin and sync my wiimote outside of gameex before I start gameex which kind of defeats the whole purpose of launching dolphin from gameex... is there a workaround for this I am missing?

Thanks. seems like a cool app unfortunately the art isnt what needs renaming its the roms...the art came from emumovies so I would like to go ahead and keep their naming conventions...wow I just realized what a huge nightmare that is...lol..
-
probably something in my settings for ppsspp... I do ramp up the graphics settings like crazy... I5 3570k and gtx 680 lightning dont break a sweat for anything...lol.. onto the next question...is there a scraper or some mass renaming app that can rename all my psp,ps2,ps1 ect games? I downloaded the boxart for psp from emumovies and mapped the paths to them in the emulator config but nothing shows Im guessing because of the incorrect naming conventions... manual renaming all my iso,cso files ect would be silly... I have a fully scraped set of mame roms but these other roms are dirty...any help is appreciated..
-
good tip.... I did try the alt f4 with ppsspp which also feezes it... ahh well its probably fixed in a nightly buid just need to go check it out...
-
Disregaurd last post that worked like a champ thanks again. only problem now is with ppsspp... latest version freezes every time when trying to close the emulator.... at least for me it does which it didnt before last update.. anyhow I guess it probably takes another command line to kill the emulator when I press escape? how would I go about doing that?
