I ran the installer over the top as I didn't know how to update from my version - (how do I do that) and now I get this message when I run it? Please help if you can

or even better if i were to use mame controls.ini via Gameex, how can i change the location of the text shown for each button. I just need to tweak this rather than create more work for myself

thanks. i have downloaded cpwizard and had a play. works well. how do i link it to gameex and how do i change the images shown. I am ok with the MAME button configs but my image for the buttons is slightly different then the mame ones, so the wording is out slightly for each button. i have 4 fire buttons whereas the mame image had 6 buttons. i want to create a template in cpwizard with the 4 buttons (which i have done) but what do i name the buttons, etc so that the mame controls.ini picks them up correctly please?

I have decided to come back to GameEx after using Meedio for some time and like what I see with the new versions. The only thing I have missing is that in Meedio I could create seperate folders for the MAME/Emulator Games, so that I could have a folder for example: Outrun which has snaps and links to each Outrun game, MAME, C64, Amiga, etc etc I miss that option _UPDATE: Found out that I can use the MAME folders and create my own folder structure via this - possibly, but without the change of icons! Will let you know how I get on. I am nearly complete with my migration from Meedio to GameEx but with a few issues if anyone can help please; 1.) I love the new config controls section in GameEx but I am having problems as my fire key on ALL my emulators is NUMPAD ENTER and not ENTER. I have used the key config but when I press NUMPAD ENTER it sets to ENTER. This of course does not allow me to use this key in the GameEx menu. I could change ALL my emulator keys to use ENTER instead but that would be a nightmare Or I could use Button 2, etc on my controls but I would like to use Button 1 (Numpad Enter) is there a way to set this either via the key config or manually in a file? 2.) I have set animated backgrounds theme set but this only sets in within MAME and Daphne, how do I allow this in the other emulators pages (I have each emulator with its own page - I know this is possibly an option that I have missed somewhere but I can not find it. 3.) How do I change the background to just the MAME page/list? I have set the Daphne one but does MAME run from 'bak' or is there another method for this? Great work anyway Tom... ok nevermind- i just wanted to have a backup of my mame games with the gameex menu running on it but it appears i will have to just use the mame32 for the auto menu when the cd is inserted. thanks anyway.

Unless you have thousands of PC games installed I would just look online and grab a screenshot there m8 -

I use my Joystick Button # 10 to exit MAME and all other Emulators including GameEx if I need to. In MAME you need to setup your controller file for your joystick - I can upload mine one here if you wish as it controls my XArcade controller, Keyboard and Joypad all in one file. Then you just select the file as a default controller file within Mame32 and voila!!! all is well!!!! For the other emulators I have done similar stuff to allow (Black button) on my xbox controller to exit the game. Although in theory you could select any button or any numerous buttons. I know START and SELECT also exit from Mame games on my controller by default also!! Hope this helps., Neil
