I am using XArcade with GameEx and trying to play GameBoy games with VisualBoyAdvance. Everything works fine outside GameEx but when it launches it the controls are off. Sometimes sluggish and always behind. For example, in Super Mario World, I push left and when I'm done he is still running into the first pipe for about a two seconds and then turns around. Everything is just....off. I messed with the speed, etc. and that didn't work. Not sure why it is acting that way in GameEx when it all works when just the emulator.
  2. Is there just a file somewhere that I can manually change the names of the titles instead of taking I don't know how many hours trying to get it to configure correctly? All the games work and I am happy with that, this is me just being anal about the titles not showing up.
  3. I am downloading the newest version of mame now. Do you set up mame in emulator setup as well?
  4. I am about to just reinstall. I have no clue why it won't work. I just went through the set-up wizard three times in a row. I select yes to set up mame. Go through place the executable, rom path, all that. Then go through the other steps. When I start over, MAME doesn't appear anywhere but under emulated games and the titles are still the filenames with no ability to update the list or anything. I'm stumped. I am guessing I did something on the initial install that has forever altered the way the software works until I remove it and start from scratch.
  5. Every example I see has another option between Download Emulators and MAME Settings called "Setup MAME?" I don't have that. Any idea why? That might solve my problem.
  6. Thanks. It is very strange. I can go into MAME and it will show the filename and the title of each of the roms. In GameEx, it is pretty much just giving me the contents of the directory holding the roms but not the titles, just the filenames.log.txr.txt
  7. Hide update list is set to no. Doh. I was hoping that was it!
  8. As much as I don't want to, would it help if I put everything back to default?
  9. I followed your instructions. It still doesn't have the update list option in GameEx.
  10. To be honest, I am finding I have no idea what I am doing (I need to give up my CS degree I think). Here is my gameex.ini file. I wasn't sure where the settings.ini file was located. Thanks again for any help.GameEx.ini
  11. That's really odd. I don't have the intermediary screen. I click Emulated Games, [Arcade] Arcade (mame), and then I just get the list of all the games with the metadata, etc. I mentioned above.
  12. I must have set something up wrong. When I am in the MAME section, all I have is 'Get MetaData', 'Change View', Back, Home, and Exit as my only options with the game list.
  13. Sorry for the Noob question but where is the "Update list" option. I don't see it in GameEx?
  14. I'm using the integrated mame setup through the configuration wizard.
  15. I have everything pretty much configured and working. However, my MAME game title list is listing the name of the file not the actual title of the game - for example Double Dragon is ddragon. Is there anyway to correct this or can you tell me where the file is and I can update them all by hand? Thanks.
