Could it be "polled" to see if that is the case? -
PinballX Enhancements/Features Requests
Numiah2 replied to Draco1962's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
I know it has been requested before (2016), but the question remains... An option to open Flyers under a single button. What would be the reason it's not implemented yet? -
I think you solved the issue! Was already running as admin, but somehow re-installing those codecs solved the intermittent behavior. I'll take her for a few spins and see how things go. Thanks a lot!

Thanks. Installing the 32 bit seems to work. It starts now. Only when I browse tables my gfx drivers freeze and crashes. Sometimes screens go black and computer returns, sometimes fully crashes to a halt. When I get home I'll post logs, but they are not showing any errors. Only the verify installation log shows the same error. I am on latest nvidia drivers.

Today I decided to update from 2.6.2 (yeah I know lol) to latest version. She won't run. Obviously something simple is missing? Would love some tips in the correct direction. Edit : Verifying install from within settings reveals an error as well, see file. [SETTINGS].log log.txt PinballX.ini Setup Verify error.txt

I'm on the latest version of Vpinball (10.2), but this issue was persistent with all previous versions too. It also happens on other games launched through PinballX. For example PinballFX, Propinball, Future Pinball, VPDX_9, VPhysmod etc. When launched directly without the use of the front end all is okay. I have a USB keyboard, but play with the IPAC connected to a USB port. Both have been switched around to no avail. Even tried with only a PS2 keyboard, same result. Remapping keys no luck either. Updating to the latest BIOS didn't matter either, but that was to be expected. Last resort is always a format C, but I'd rather not.

Ah, silly me. Totally forgot to add those two. Here they are. I started a new game of AFM on 21:14:59 Launched a bal and held the right flipperbutton. It beeped within 8 seconds. After releasing the flipperbutton I can't use it again. Have to press any other button to be able to use the right button again. But can use it only once before it stops working again. Odd huh? Full reboot solves the issue. I'm completely in the dark with this strange behavior. PinballX.ini log.txt

Hi, When holding a flipper button too long the keyboard buffer overflows after 8 seconds (-ish) and starts beeping really short beeps. After that I can use the flipper keys, or any other for that matter, once every other click until I reboot my system. This issue only appears when launching a Visual Pinball game through PinballX (latest version). Playing them without the front end poses no issue. It's kinda annoying while cradling in multiball. I am aware this is not the default Windows Sticky keys. These are disabled for ages. Can only reproduce when PinballX is loaded. Without it, the system works fine. MAME games, ProPinball, PinballFX etc. etc. Specs : Gigabyte Z97xSLi * Intel i5-4690 * 2 x Asus GTX650Ti-boost * IPAC * ledwiz etc. etc. Anyone of you have a suggestion for me where to look? Thanks in advance!

And you got it working without a PPU and got it working how?

PinballX Enhancements/Features Requests

Small request. I would love to have an extra button in the "Keyboard Input Settings" screen. Flyer As I have an extra button in the front of my cab called Flyer, I would love to have the shortcut key "F" mapped to it. Thank you. -
Yep. Bingo. Simply renaming that file removed the launch sound. It was in an obvious place too lol Gotta love PinballX
-
+1 Would love to change it too!
-
I've set the MAME behaviour inside MAMEUI64 itself in general options for all games.
-
Well, turns out I'm a total knob... Despite manually setting online to True in the .ini, it got overruled/changed by changes made in settings.exe So, by accident, I noticed it being disabled. Oopsy... See? Was something small after all! Thank you guys for replying!

Hi, I recently changed out my old Q6600 with a new mobo and i5 processor. (Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI and i5 4690K, 2 GFX, GTS450 and 9800GTX, 16Gb Ram and SSD. Not an absolute monster build, but it will eat everything I throw at it for breakfast so far) These changes made a LOT of difference in the overall performance. Faster loading times too. The Q6600 performed well the passed few years, but the latest tables with all their fancy bling bling, made it stutter here and there.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, it indeed shows my username and password (dots of course) after exiting and re-opening. To make sure I've copy pasted my credentials in there, so they are correct. When I click the embedded link in the wizard to go to the webpage, it opens the browser and I can login using the same credentials. Weird huh? Must be something small hehe

When I tick the box "Online for import", I get the following error : "Please configure gameex online in the settings application to use the online media search and download feature". These isn't a whole lot to setup inside the settings program other than my username and password. Which are correct btw. Logging in works directly in the website. In the PinballX.ini gameex online is set to True. Am I missing a crucial step?

Hey guys, Another question from me. When running a game directly inside MAME all joystick buttons work. (Sidewinder Pro, Win7 x64, PinballX 1.99) But when running the same game through PinballX only button0 and button1 seem to work. Button 3 does nothing. I've unmapped all buttons inside PinballX, but to no avail. Is there something obvious I'm missing here? Thank you.

If hard freezes happen, make sure to check if they are also happening when launching directly from VPinball.exe If so, you might wan't to check either CPU/GPU temperatures or memory timings.
-
Yeah, true that. Something is calling somewhere it seems. What makes it weird it only affects PinballX, Settings and GameEditor. Everything else (nothing much installed though) reacts normally. Usually I kill most things in msconfig and disable most of the unwanted services. In this case I slipstreamed Win7 to peel it down even further. Who needs Mediaplayer and Calculator anyways on his cab lol. With this perhaps I can narrow it down some more. Even though are no packets sent or received when internet is enabled. When I disable internet (from router) things behave out of order. Network access is still enabled btw because of a mapped drive to my NAS. Let the investigation commence!
-
Well, there's a development... I enabled internet access to the pincab. Guess what. These three programs start instantly again. Whut ??
-
As of today something strange is happening. Starting Pinballx, Settings or Game Manager became really slow. Once opened they react normally. So when I double click settings nothing happens for 15 seconds and then it opens. Only thing I recall changing recently is placing an underlay for the wheel. Removing this doesn't make any difference. There are no unknown processes hogging CPU cycles or something. If I open Chrome or VPinball for example, they open instantly. This issue is contained to PinballX alone. Here's my .ini and log. I notice the log starts logging after the 15 second wait, so prolly no use there. Could someone take a peek at what might be happening here? Thank you !

Thanks, your help is appreciated. I removed the older version and removed all remaining registry settings. Performed a clean install of 1.79. To no avail... This version isn't creating the log file as well. I'll try rolling back to 1.78 to see if it's still able to create the log file. Edit : Tried 1.79 on my main computer and of course it instantly works and even creates a log. (win7 x64)
