  1. I did a clean install of XP and PinballX seems to be working now. I haven't had time to set up visual pinball yet but PinballX at least starts up so that is major progress!!! I will continue to set everything up and hopefully all goes well. Thanks for the quick responses. Hopefully this was just a quirk and not a serious issue. The only difference with the installs is this time when I installed XP I had no issues with Windows Update. I was able update last time but I had to get an ISO of SP3 and install it manually. This time it just worked without any problems. So, maybe something important got left out during my last install. From what I have read, this is a known issue with Microsoft. Probably has something to do with XP's end of life coming up soon. Anyway, thanks again for the help!
  2. Thanks for the responses. I did uninstall the video codec. I then redownloaded from the link provided on the website and reinstalled it. Still nothing. I guess my next move will be to reinstall xp after work today and see if that fixes it.
  3. Just for giggles I took out the HD 5770 and installed my 560Ti with the latest drivers. I then uninstalled PinballX and re-installed it. Same result. I just can't get it to start at all.
  4. Hello, I have been using PinballX for a while now on my desktop PC running Windows 7 and I really like it. However, I recently set up another PC for a cabinet build and I am having some difficulty. Everything works fine outside of PinballX. I just can't get PinballX to run at all. The new PC build is running Windows XP SP3. I'm running a phenom II x4 840 cpu with 4gb of RAM and for the GPUs I have an HD 5770 running my main display and an 8500gt running the backglass/dmd but I'm only running 2 monitors right now as I am just testing everything out. I have tried completely uninstalling and re-installing PinballX but it still won't run. I believe I have the correct video codec installed (got the shark007 vista/xp 32bit codec that is linked on the home page) and I did set multithreaded FFDshow in the h264 tab as indicated. I also tried running it in desktop mode with only one monitor just to see if that would work, but still nothing. Log File: Config:
