  1. Go to YouTube AND Vimeo and search for "5 second project". There are quite a few short pinball related generic videos. I have a bunch saved on my cab and PinballX plays a random one on launch. some day I'll figure out how to manipulate them to take up the whole screen (zoom) but for now it does the job -Ron
  2. Rather than exiting to get to another front end or independent app, add that as a new system. Look for the Jukebox music config and you'll see it is set up as a new system with one entry. When run from Pinballx, it simply executes the .exe and waits. That should work to launch steam apps or other windows apps. The only catch is that the launcher has to stay running (or waiting) as Pinballx is watching for it to close (or E to be pressed). I run jukebox, FX2 via steam prior to it being built in and mame games via this method. -Ron
  3. Thanks. Made the config change and it worked perfectly. -Ron
  4. Thanks for this excellent utility. Using your PBXrecorder 1.3beta15, what is the criteria you use to determine if a given XML (Other System) is Visual Pinball or not? I have my VP9 and VPX tables together in the Visual Pinball tables folder. Visual Pinball 9 is in the primary system Visual Pinball.XML using Vpinball.exe. Visual Pinball 10 is an "Other System" called "VPX" with an associated .exe of VpinballX.exe. Only the primary Visual Pinball.XML is processed and VPX.XML is skipped. -Ron PBXrecorder.ini PBXrecorder.log.txt
  5. Try pressing 'P' instead of 'E' to pause. The pause menu has many of the items you're looking for in 'E'.
  6. Yes, if I hand edit the Visual Pinball.xml file and add "atlantis" into the rom tag, it works. So, there is a bug in Game Manager causing the rom list parsing to not reveal all the roms. Once hand edited in, it does appear in the main config list in Game Manager but not the pick list. I'll hand edit these few in.
  7. No, like all ROMs, they are zipped and in the ROM folder. Here's a few screen shots to show what I'm referring to: 1. Game Manager with Apollo 13, Atlantis and Attack from Mars shown 2. Clicking on "ROM" for Atlantis, I only see ROM's for Apollo 13 and Attack from Mars; the Atlantis ROM is missing. 3. In Atlantis (Bally 1989).vpt; open the script and show the referenced ROM 4. In the ROMs folder, show the referenced ROM (along with the two others) Atlantis runs fine from within PinballX - I just can't reference the ROM for it from PinballX to show it during the preview. -Ron
  8. That post refers to inadvertently using the table filter causing tables to be hidden. My issue is that when selecting the ROM from the Game Manager ROM button, the list of ROM's doesn't include the ones I've noted.
  9. I love the ability to open and display the ROM and high score info while browsing in PinballX. However, I'm having trouble setting all my SS tables in Game Manager. For a few of them, the associated ROM isn't listed in the selection list: Atlantis (Bally 1989): atlantis.zip Centaur (Bally 1981): centaur.zip Krull (Gottlieb 1983): krull.zip Raven (Premier 1986): raven.zip Robot (Zaccaria 1985): robot.zip Xenon (Bally 1980): xenon.zip Also, I can't quite figure out how to not display the DMD in PinballX for EM tables. Is it an all or nothing setting? The Game Manager "Hide DMD" check mark seems confusing as to when to use it and when not to. PinballX.ini log.txt
  10. Sorry, been away from the boards for a bit. I snagged my background images from the Internet Pinball database site's pictures of various machine's innards. If you browse through them, you'll see there are quite a few to choose from. To create the actual background image, you'll need to determine the dimensions and layout of your screens - as the background is a single graphic that is shown across all your screens. For me, the playfield is the primary screen and that image needed to be horizontal. Then I needed to add the backglass image to the left of the playfield image and rotated 90 degrees. I've no idea how to post a picture to this forum (seems to prefer I place the image elsewhere and link to it - but then the linked file eventually disappears leaving a dead link). -Ron
  11. I have my play field set to a picture of the inside of an EM table (wires, solenoids, raw wood) and the back glass to the inside of an EM back glass. Had to fiddle with the pics a bit to correct perspective but it creates a cool effect that lasts a couple of seconds before the PBX vid kicks off. -Ron
