  1. Thanks. That was the ticket. I had hidden the feed scroll bar in theme.ini by giving it a 0,0,0,0 value instead of deleting it.
  2. Hi all, I noticed the other day that my arcade cabinet is loading Gameex very slowly on the 1st startup. I did search the forums and it came up with this old and locked post: http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/13903-gameex-very-slow-to-load-on-first-launch/ It seems like the consensus from the post was that Gameex takes time to load stuff into the cache and on the second restart the stuff is already in RAM and the post was locked. However the weird thing is that my setup for the past few years loads very quickly and the only thing that I've tried to do is to install the USB controller setup program on my WinXP machine by installing various dot net frameworks. It was so unusual that I thought I had borked something in my setup (looked like Gameex was hanging) but when I went away to check on something else, it loaded up about 1 min later. Checking out my log.txt file it seems that it hangs around this part of the startup: 14:49:19.2 8/4/2015: Creating Font Black Small14:49:19.2 8/4/2015: Fonts Created Succesfully14:49:19.2 8/4/2015: Loading News Feed: http://www.gameex.net/gameexnews.xml14:50:43.0 8/4/2015: 15MB Video Memory Used14:50:43.1 8/4/2015: Attempting to load game list14:50:43.5 8/4/2015: MAME CMD options: -nowindow -joy -skip_gameinfo -multimouse But when I load it up for the second time there is no pause:15:14:50.3 8/4/2015: Creating Font Black Small15:14:50.3 8/4/2015: Fonts Created Succesfully15:14:50.4 8/4/2015: Loading News Feed: http://www.gameex.net/gameexnews.xml15:14:52.0 8/4/2015: 15MB Video Memory Used15:14:52.2 8/4/2015: Attempting to load game list15:14:52.2 8/4/2015: MAME CMD options: -nowindow -joy -skip_gameinfo -multimouse Any thoughts? I would accept it as Gameex loading something but the fact that it never happened before makes me wonder. Thanks. log.txt
  3. Stigzler - Yes, I'm the Ikeakade guy. Thanks for the props! Thanks Tom for the quick response. I ended up buying another arcade controller board for third joystick.
  4. Hi, I'm trying to setup a third joystick (4 way) using an Xin Mo arcade controller that supports 2 gamepads by using the unused inputs for 4 buttons that belongs to the 2nd player's "gamepad" In the Windows XP game controller setup, all is well as moving the third joystick triggers the correct buttons e.g 8,9,10,11 for Player 2. However in GameEx, I have assigned Player 1's button 8, 9 to be my "back" and "select" buttons in my custom joystick input. So when I try to use the third joystick it will output "back" and "select" even though the third joystick belongs to Player 2's button set. So it seems that GameEx is unable to distinguish the buttons between Player 1 and Player 2 even though Windows and Mame sees them as two different buttons. I know I can hook up the 4 way to my other joystick but it would be nice to be able to use this a separate joystick for those 3 and 4 player games in Mame. Have I missed a configuration or is this a limitation of the software? Thanks for looking into this and I await your reply. GameEx.ini log.txt custominput.ini
