  1. I think your problem is your video snaps are in wmv. I'm pretty sure game movies have to be AVI to be shown. Plus the "semi-official" game video previews that exist are all done in AVI/Divx. Check http://www.emumovies.com for more information.
  2. I've never had good luck with wireless headphones, but I have an older set of these (2yrs) and highly recommend them. Newegg - LTB-MG51-USB The only con that I have with them is you should use a powered external USB hub with them to minimize any "hiss" that you can get when using the internal USB controller in your PC. These are really great though, especially for first person shooters that support 5.1. These have 4 independent speakers, (2 in each ear) and the surround experience really is very good for the price.
  3. Either configure GameEx to Disable the disclaimer, or instead of having it actually load the game, use the emumovies avi's for the screensaver. (Less CPU intensive)

    Full Screen

Most likely you have a "filter" turned on in Mame32 plus. Like the bliter 3xHQ, etc. This does not work properly and can create shrunken video, etc. So either disable any filters and either stick with scanlines only or just use the regular Mame32.

    MAME Catver

I verified the gamelist.txt file after updating and the Date/Manuf data is in there, similar to the list prior to upgrading. I will try removing the list tonight and update the list from scratch. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks!
  6. Now I may feel even more stupid for making assumtions..... Did I assume wrong that the new Zinc wrapper is included with 7.64? I have a feeling that I need to download it manually and configure it according to this post..... http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...amp;#entry13242

    MAME Catver

Rebuilt my mamelist after upgrading to 7.64 and none of the Manufacturer/Year information is getting included in the gamelist. I see it process the catver and it says adding, but nothing shows up when trying to filter the list off of Manufacturer/Year/etc.
  8. Updated to 7.64 and same problem exists. Just for the heck of it I backed up my gamex 7.64 folder, deleted it and reinstalled 7.09. After doing this joysticks worked again in Zinc. Can anyone confirm this working or not? Thanks!
  9. I've had weird sound cut outs with some systems with onboard audio chips. Usually a driver update will resolve, but throwing an old SBLive! in and using the current drivers has always fixed it for me. Never thought it was a GameEx problem, mostly a overall system issue.
  10. Wow. Raiden III is really fun. Graphics are over the top and sound is great too!
  11. I've found several benefits to Kawaks over Mame. If you have a halfway decent system, it's support for different blitters and scanlines really improves the graphics, and also their low-pass audio filter cleans up the sound emulation on most titles. And like I mentioned, some titles in Mame that seem to bog down in heavy action are noticeablly smoother. I have not enabled kawaks in GameEx yet. Waiting till I try the other emus first before making the change. Kawaks does use most of the same roms from Mame, but support many other titles including some fun hacks to the metal slug series Pl3asuredome does have a full kawaks set available. It has 493 roms and weighs in @ 4.45Gb.
  12. I'm been pretty happy with winkawaks, mostly for the better performance in games like metal slug. In parts where Mame's emulation speed slows down in heavy action, kawaks seems to keep up much better with the action. I will give final burn a try too to see how it works.
  13. Looking for some feedback on what people have settled on for NeoGeo emulator of choice.
  14. After upgrading to 7.57, (haven't tried 7.60 yet) my UltraStik 360 Joysticks are not passing though to Zinc anymore. I run ZINC outside of gameex fine, but when launched through gameex, neither joystick controls it. One positive is that the control panel buttons that have been defined still work fine through gameex. I will try 7.60 tonight and update this thread with what happens.
  15. The only problem I have had with older versions of windows (98/2000) is the handling of unique USB IDs for each device. Depending on the vendor, windows would sometimes get confused and lose the IDs of the devices. This would result in the devices being auto detected everytime and/or IDs getting overlapped. It has much improved in Windows XP SP2, especially if the vendor has kept their drivers/software up-to-date. If the device is very old and no real support for XP, then it's up to the OS to keep the devices working properly. Under your "Game Controllers" control panel, the the joysticks appear exactly with the same name? or do they have a #1 or a #2 after them?
