  1. Oh sweet! Should of RTFM LOL. I assumed alpha paging was some sort of fancy graphics display option. 6000 with clones though, I just have the use clone if better option on which reduces them down somewhat.
  2. Request for a better navigation of a big list. For instance Mame is now around 3000+ games. Would be nice if you could say hold down your joystick for a few seconds and rather than just going through each item it popped up with the first letter in the corner and began to scroll through them, releasing the joystick or pressing a button at the first letter of the rom name. This is kinda like the Sony MP3 players handle big lists. Also on a navigation front would it be possible to analogue the scroll so that using a spinner control you could race through the list rather than one at a time as if you are just pressing a key each time? I know about the paging "shift" key which I have mapped to one of my buttons, but it still takes an age if you want to play something like Xevious which is right down the bottom. This would be more from a cabinet perspective where a keyboard has no place IMO. Thanks in advance and keep up the great work!
  3. Ah, it appears we where both wrong. I found my issue was I need to tweak about with the H hold, V hold and stuff to stop certain games rolling about on the display. After using the resolution tool I found that a lot of games started to look kinda stretched and wierd where they didnt before. I removed all the INI files from the Mame folder (generated by the res tools) and set ArcadeVGA Yes in the GameEx config. The games that dont roll around the screen now look excellent and I am assuming are running at the correct resolutions now, whereas before they where stretched and squished about Just need to keep tweaking the monitor dials until I get something that works on everything....easier said than done when you cant see the screen when your head is in the back of the cab trying to turn dials without touching a live capacitor! LOL Was browsing around and found this: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=893
  4. I have had a search and noticed quite a few people switching ArcadeVGA setting to off even though they have one. What I would like to know is though, I have run a mamewah resolution util and generated INI files for my games, if I test them from Mame directly I get no problems (apart from some odd stretches with strange resolutions) and I can play vertical shooters no issues of rolling screens. However, if I enable the Use ArcadeVGA option in Game Ex config, I end up with it trying to display resolutions which appear to be out of spec for the monitor. Am I doing something wrong here?
  5. Wonder if anyone can help with the following at all: I got the AVISnaps configured up and a load of intro movies in the correct folder. When I scroll through the games list in Mame via GameEx a black window appears on the left but no movie ever appears. When I move off the game a snip of the sound plays almost as if the movie was playing. Checked that the videos play fine in media player so codecs seem to be in place for them fine. Any ideas?
