Hi everyone I been reading about how some say GameEx is bloated etc and that they want a version of GameEx just for mame and nothing else. well I have this to say, there are many other Mame frontends out there that are dedicated to mame. Try mameWah for example, its a great front end for mame and you can also run all your other emulators if you so choose to So if you are worried about GameEx being bloated, then try MameWah or something else http://mamewah.mameworld.net/ and if one doesnt need a feature in GameEx, then disable it, its that simple I do not see any reason why Tom should be working on 2 vesrions of GameEx Like I said, there are many other Frontends out there that will suit ones needs No one is forced to use GameEx or any other frontend If one doesnt like it then Make your own and see how difficult a job it is to do I think we should all be thankful for what Tom has created he deservse praise for his hard work and dedication to GameEx Tom, keep up the good work, this is truely a great Frontend Im sure most people are appreciative of what you have achieved thus far we thank you for your dedication to GameEx Tom, GameEx is your creation and you do what you want to it, don't let others talk you into cutting things out, just to suit their needs. Thank you for the explaination about AdvanceMame and why the official build is needed I understand now why and what i need to do to get it to work with GameEx sorry for being a bit dumb with this, but now im a lot wiser because of your assistence and hopefully anyone else with simular problem Thank you once again for you time and help for helping out dumies like myself GameEx Rocks, does everyone agree? dear admin thank you so much for your fast response to my problem Yippy it works I pointed the mame exe to an official build and all seem fine now so thank you for solving my problem but may I ask why things had to change in the current versions of gameex when it comes to using advancemame what im basically trying to ask, is there any benifit by having the official build alongside advmame, why is the advmame exe nolonger valid, never needed it before. anyway, the main thing is everything works again and thats the main thing and if i have to have an official build alongside advancedmame then so be it thank you for your assistance and hope other advancemame users will find this info of benifit thank you for a great front end, it Rocks once again

Hi, firstly like to say GameEx Rocks I have been using GameEx for some time now without problems I have constantly kept up with updates and have not had a problem untill now last working version for me is 4.01 soon as I updated to 4.03 GameEx hanged at startup I even tried 4.04 and the same thing happends if I reinstall 4.01 no problem, everything works fine i figured out that to stop GameEx hanging was to take out the .exe away from advancemame.exe in the setting but when i do this, Mame is not showing on the Start page, everything else is there such as dvd, jukebox, othere emulators etc etc and yes i have made sure that mame is selected to show up on screen the strange thing is that without changing any settings and reinstall 4.01 everything works fine so what im wondering, has something majorly changed from 4.01 to 4.03 and 4.04 or is it something new added to make AdvanceMame work in new version im confussed as to why all of a sudden mame not working ususally just do an update and everything work fine from version to version does anyone have a sollution or simular problem or just me? my advancemame is on D:\Mame and no, im not going to put it on C drive
