    Update List Crash

    Thanks Tom! That was it!
  2. Sigh. Your response to the last thread I posted in was great, that was indeed the problem (no idea how I got ahold of MAME 0.65 in the first place, ha). So, here I am again; I now share the same problem as Nightlife. After seeing the improvements made to MAME, I decided to check out AdvanceMAME. It is working wonderfully all the way up to quitting, where GameEx now gives me the 20 Consecutive Errors after a "Memory Could Not Be Written" or "Memory Could Not Be Read" dialog box. I've tried resolutions of all kinds and combinations in all 3 domains (Desktop, GameEx and AdvanceMAME) with the same result. Video card is a GeForce2MX running Composite Out using the most recent drivers (I also updated GameEx to 4.04 today). I'm so close... : ) By the way, does anyone have any ideas on controlling Media Center with the gamepad as well? I suppose I could probably work it out with Joy2Key... Thanks again to all, Luke log.txt GameEx.ini.txt

    Update List Crash

Hi Tom, I must have just run GameEx normally without attempting to update the list before I posted the log, so sorry about that. Another is attached. FYI - Yes, I was running Windows Server 2003 at that time, and was able to update the list originally. Yesterday I managed to get the list to update again, though I have no idea how, as I did not make any changes I had not made before in trying to get this going. Today I reverted to Windows Media Center Edition to get both my gamepads working again. I once again cannot update the list without a crash. I only replaced my Windows directory - I did not reformat, but I did reinstall GameEx when it completed. Deleting the files had no effect. Attached is a new log file, with the 20 consecutive exceptions closing message. Thanks for looking into this! log.txt

    Update List Crash

Hallo, I'm in the same boat here: Mame was initially in C:\Emulators\MAME 0.95. Gamex was configured as such, and this was the configuration with which I updated the game list in Gamex. I then discovered MAME would not run because of the space in the path (between MAME and 0.95). I moved MAME to just C:\MAME as recommended in its documentation, and then updated GameEx's configuration to reflect this. MAME ran fine, but when I attempted to update GameEx's list I got the same result as Muza (It would also crash in the same manner when trying to run any of the now-defunct game entries). I uninstalled GameEx, moved MAME to C:\Emulators\MAME, reinstalled GameEx and reconfigured. I am still getting the crash on attempting to update the game list, even though there are no remaining games in the game list pointing to lost games. Would be great to get GameEx back! It's terrible using the mouse, and typing "OK" instead of joystick-left-right. Log and INI attached. log.txt GameEx.ini.txt
