Hi TEMPEST yes i am setting it up as an emulator. And what is the basic mame settings page. cheers peter I HAVE DONE IT THE ADVANCE WAY. AND THE BASIC WAY AS IT SHOWS IN EASY WAY. And when you get to where it says setup mame and thats what i did. Idid not try to set up any other emulator except mame and no themes until i got mame sorted

Hi all i did as phantom said in post above but it was set ok. and it is now coming up and saying error in emulator 1 Cannot find emulator,so that will be why it does not get to the part to update. I have checked and checked and where it say the emulator is in config that is where i have IT but it cannot see it. so i have deleted all mame and gameex and will set it all up again tomorrow. I am deleting it all so i can have a clean start and try again,after i do it tomorrow and it dont start i will come back with my log.But if it cannot find it and it is looking in the right place what then But if it cannot find emulator then log will not matter as i know there is something else. cheers peter and thanks again

Hi all EVENTUALY got gameex to start but no way can i find how to get update list. I have been through forums and faq ,no way does it show me how to update list. There is nothing on screen to show this. latest gameex mame32 xp pro thanks Peter

Hi all hope you dont mind but to me it is a problem. I have latest gameex and win xp pro When gameex starts i have no mouse pointer and i have not disabled it and sometimes but not always the startup screen has 3 icons on the left and 2 on the right a question mark a green circle with an arrow inside and another icon. And on the right a red cross and a H symbol in blue. Is there anyway to get these to show up each time gameex starts. I have been having problems for 2 weeks with one thing or another,i have been backwards and forwards through F A Q and through instructions. I have installed gameex 4 times and done the basic setup and advanced. i dont think posting the log will help as it is starting ok. Plus i am not on my cab to post the log Cheers Peter

Hi hope somebody can helphad gameex set up many times with no trouble. But i just cannot get it to run now. Mame works on its own and i have an old version ov mame but all roms work in it . So i dont realy want to upgrade mame it is mame32. I have always used this with gameex, I have d/loaded gameex twice now saved it to desktop and then installed. I have tried basic and advanced install. Please help just cannot figure it out. Hi all trouble again in latest version,i had trouble getting it sorted . Went through all the config and updated games list and all ok. When i start gameex all games come up but they have bezels at side so it makes game narrow , when i go in to configuration there is nothing in at all so icannot alter anything and no where to update. I must be miles out here when i had ver 02 each time i went into gameex configuration all the files and alterations i put in were still there to be seen. I must be wrong do you think if i reinstall over the top it will sort itself out. cheers

Hi all i have had gameex since 7.02 and decided to update mame from 0.91 to 103 when i loaded 7.02 a while back all went ok.Now i have updated it asks for these files when going through the configuration. catver.ini controls.ini history.dat nplayers.ini avi.snap manual. I did not get this with ver 7.02 i just clicked it through and all worked. I have been on config HQ and the links there for some of these files show page not available. Probably me i know but i am not that great with some of the thing that i read on this forum and cannot find no entry on forum of anybody else having this problem,and as is gameex 7.71 will not start I am registered,there seems to be a lot of intelligent answers come up on here so hopefully sombody can show me how simple i have been cheers Peter I cannot show log as i cannot get one also it is on my cabinet and i have no internet installed

HI nologic i will second that list above,it would be great not to have to search everywhere ,if the man is kind enough to use some spare time to do this. I am sure there will be a lot of people like myself who find somethings just out of there reach. I read a lot in the forum when looking for problems i have,and some of the things they ask and are answered are way past me . But hopefully as i read more i learn more and in time help others. Hi all hope somebody can help gameex registered and working OK. just completed a spinner hack with a mouse and it looks ok. When i plug it in ps2 mouse port it shows up in windows desktop and goes left to right so that seems ok,but when i start mame it does not recognize it or rather in tempest it does not move anything. I have gone into options and there is a tick in box for mouse,please can anybody tell me how to set it up (just another thing i dont know, cheers and thanks Peter

Hi all i dont have zinc,i had the last version of gameex and it only showed 116 games. But it closed back to the frontend after playing a game,i upgraded and it found all 3000 games but when i click on one. The screen goes off and just stays black and after ctr-alt-del it shows game and gameex still running,and cpu well up sometimes 100%. On my other cab800 cpu 256 meg xp pro direct x 9 netframework 1.1 it only shows116 games with the earlier version to the last update,and does sometimes go back to black screen. Both of them take a couple of minutes to go back to gameexif i leave older version in and 116 games,untill i sort this i cannot put any other emulaters in. I have set it up the best i know from toms readups and searching this forum every night to see if anything new has been added. So for now i have taken it off my other cab with 800 cpu and just run mame as it is and all is ok.(just without this excellent front end ) Hope somebody has some ideas thanks a lot Peter ps sorry for rambling its getting to me

Hi all i have gameex running on a 2 gig 512 ram 64 meg graphics.xp pro ( registered) For ages it would only find 116 games out of 3000+,after searching through all the topics ie 80 pages,and trying different things.(then i put the latest virsion on yesterday 7.05 i think. All games showed but when i click a game it goes to black screen and ctrl-alt-del shows game running. I have tried many things in config,all games play ok in mame. Once it goes to black screen it pushes cpu to 100% and after a while i have to restart as cannot shutdown in task manager as cpu at 100% i honestly cannot find a solution (in faq or topics . thanks Peter running mame 32 0.91

Hi i have the same problem with mame32 i have 3000 plus roms that work in mame but gameex will only show 106 and sometimes less depending what i change in config settings, Been playing with it for days and read all the forum to try and find a solution . but somewhere in toms writeup he says you are better off with the latest mame and the latest gameex. So i will probably go that way but i will have to get some 109 set of roms from r*******er. as i am on mame32 version 0.91 cheers Peter
