Tom, Very nice utility. I really appreciate what you are doing. It seems that you are able to find all kind of new things. Where other developers just keep stuck to improvement of their frontend, you really rock with your nice utilities. By the way, I posted this news also on the Mameworld news forum. Hi Tom, I did an upgrade to 5.23 but now I have other problems: - when I quit GameEx, I have a black desktop. The picture of my beautiful wife is gone. Luckily I could fix this in a second. - My mame gamelist is suddenly empty - My most played game is empty - I tried to play my favorite A2600 game (demon attack with Stella). It worked, but when I quit the came, GameEx did not return (I had to kill the Stella proces) I did not try other things, but I will go back to GameEx 5.19 once again. I have to live without the Galaxian theme. No wait, I will copy the theme before I remove 5.23. By the way, my intro movie did play good now. Greetings, poldermamer

Hi tom, Headkaze, I am running GameEx 5.19 very satisfactory, but because of the Galaxian teme I did an upgrade to 5.21 a few days ago. However, this gave several problems (intro movie only sound but no picture, desktop showing after hitting a key, key repeating problem, etc.), so I went back to 5.19. My question is if it is possible to post the Galaxian theme as a separate download in the theme section of the forum, so I can use it in the 5.19 version of GameEx? Greetings, Poldermamer

hi tom, This week I installed a J-pac with an ArcadeVGA in a cabinet with a vertical mounted 15Khz arcade monitor. In this cabinet I only have vertical games. I now run 3DArcade/emulaxian as a front end, but I also want to try GameEx. Is there a possibility to orientate GameEx vertical, inlcuding vertical theme (480 x 640), displays of list etc? I run Windows '98 SE in it.

Hi Tom, Strange, I always thought you were Italian. But with your last name i should have known better! Anyway, if people are more or less forced to pay a small amount for something which used to be free, they start wining. Me included (I am Dutch ...). At first I thought: what the heck..., then, after a few moments of good tinking, it was clear to me that you are offering a really great piece of software, and for (almost) free. And that this fact has to be rewarded is so obvious, that a nag screen should not be needed. So, stop wining people, and pay the men for his tremendous effort and great application. I will now!

Hi tom, I can't find them in my GameEx config file. I already have 18 emu configs (no.1 to no. 18), are your ones overwritten when I install the new version?

Hi Tom, This GameEx project of you is really getting incredable! I like it very much, although I seem to have a few issues: 1. I just installed 4.81, and I noticed that in he configuration fe the emulators are grouped by 5, up to 15. However, I have 18 emulator configs. Al 18 are in the config file, but why are the last 3 not in the configuration fe? 2. since A long time (for me: from the first time I started to use GameEx), the configuration fe freezes if I click a few times for the next page. I have then to CTRL-ALT-DEL to go out of the configuration fe. Why? 3. I have some newspaper web sites installed in GameEx, in which I can navigate with my remote control arrows and OK button for a link. However, if I clicked on a link and want to go back to the previous web page, it does not work on the back button. If I hit the back button I get back to GameEx, not to the previous webpage. Why? 4. I can navigate in the configuration fe with my mouse, but not with the remote control. Why not? Are above issues caused because I have not made the right configuration choices, or is it something else? Greetings, Poldermamer

Tom, Thanks, that thit the trick. Sound in Mame is good now, and I created a new Mame ctrl file and added it to the commandline options in GameEx. And as I was at it, I also changed to commandline Mame. Now I am rid of the nasty Windows screens and my joystick works just fine. Greetings, poldermamer

Hi, The volume stays the same, but the pace of the music is not so smoothly. It stutters, but the pictures are smoothly. Strange is that for instance in Visual Boy Advance through GameEx, the sound is smoothly if, after pushing escape, the menubar appears. When I hit the Escape again, the menu bar (obviously) disapperars, and the sound stutters again. By the way: my PC is a P 3300Mhz with 512 MB in it.

Hi, I am running Mame32 v 0.90, in which I made my own controller cfg, so it works with my logitech wingman gamepad. In this cgf I set the 'insert coin' to my left shoulder button, the 'start game' to my right shoulder button and made some other key changes. This cfg is my default cfg in mame. so, When I play a game in mame everything works well. however, wenn I play the same game through GameEx, the shoulder buttons and some other buttons (not all, directions for instanc still work) don't work anymore. I tested this for a few games, but I have the same result everywhere. Why? another question: Why is the sound from emulated games via GameEx worse than direct played through the emulator (mame, VBA, ..)? last question: In Mame my games take the whole TV screen, but the same games through GameEx leave a gap on top and on the bottom.
