Ok, so I played a variety of tables over the past week or so and I'm still seeing this problem. I can't replicate it, but it does seem to happen at random times during play. Sometimes in multiball mode, other times just when a ball is lost, other times while the ball is in the middle of play. Very unusual. I have attached several different log files for different tables that exited back to PinballX. I have also included a screenshot of my VP keyboard settings. One thing to note, I also use the latest version of PinMHi Leaderboard, which also uses a few mapped keys to trigger challenges and display high scores, etc. I have mapped the left bracket and right bracket keys for these functions. I'm hoping you can help me out. log (after Poyeye Saves the World).txt log (after Bramstokers Dracula).txt log (after barbwire exit).txt log (after fishtales exit).txt

I recently returned to this awesome hobby and needed to do some updates to several of the key components I had installed on my 4-screen cab (PBX, VPX, BS2). After the updates, I'm encountering a problem with my setup. I use PBX for my front-end. While in game play, and if I get to a multi-ball mode, when I lose a ball during multi-ball mode, the PBX front-end activates again on top of my table while the game is still in action. Have any of you witnessed this before? If I exit out of PBX, the VPX table is still running and I can continue playing it. Very odd. I'm only seeing this when I enter a multi-ball mode and then lose one of the balls. That is what seems to trigger this situation. I have tried it with a few random VPX tables, and it seems to happen on all of them (I played Batman, then Family Guy). Could I have messed up one of my settings in the process of updating all the various components? I have attached the log file and .ini files in case they help. PinballX.ini log.txt

Hi Guys, is this related to why my login to the FTP site has stopped working? I’ve been away from the pinball scene for a while, but back to engage once again and my FTP login has stopped working. I confirmed all the address, port#, and used my email as requested, but I’m getting a “password required” error when my FTP front-end tries to connect. Perhaps I need to request permission again? Thanks,

Thanks for all the feedback. I didn't realize there was a newer version of PBX Recorder that you had to download separately. I mistakenly thought that it would be included in the PinballX upgrade. So I download PBX Recorder v1.6 and it solved my playfield recording problem!! I think it was related to me setting VPX into fullscreen exclusive mode, and this feature wasn't supported until a later version of PBX Recorder. Thanks, I will consider my issue resolved!

Mike_da_Spike, I have attached the log.txt after creating the playfield video in Game Manager. I am having one other small issue with Game Manager. It seems when I run the app, it successfully opens with table and records the various videos, but it doesn't exit back out the table when the recording is done...the table stays running. I eventually have to hit the Esc key to exit the table from VPX and then Game Manager returns. Maybe this is related to my problem somehow? log.txt

Hello, I recently upgraded to the latest version of PinballX (v4.06). Historically, I've used PBXRecorder to record all my videos after I add a new table to my system. It is an fantastic tool and has been working great for years. But since upgrading to v4.06, PBXRecorder the playfield video capture is not working correctly. It does capture a video of the playfield monitor, but instead of capturing the actual pinball playfield, it is capture the desktop "behind" the playfield, and it's rotated 180 degrees (aka upside down). The only change I am aware that I did, was since upgrading my machine was running certain VPX tables a little sluggish, so I configured VPX to work in full screen exclusive mode. Thinking this might be the problem, I turned the setting in the Settings.exe app to full screen exclusive mode, but it didn't make a difference. Has anyone seen this problem before? I'm sure it's just a setting I have wrong in my system. On a side note, I tried using the video capture feature now built into the Game Manager, but I got the same result...it recorded the desktop of my playfield monitor and it was 180 rotated same as if I used PBXRecorder. The game I added to my system was "Bally Game Show" so you will see that in the attached settings files I have included. Can someone help look into this for me? Tom, I'm hoping you can help me with another issue I'm having. I didn't create a new thread because I'm getting the exact same error as topache was getting. After I rebuilt my VP environment and updated to version 2.73 of PinballX, I'm getting the same error as topache. Namely, Fatal error: HRESULT 88760868 at RenderDevice.ccp:284. And what is strange is that it only occurs with non-VPX tables. The first non-VPX table works great within PBX, but as soon as I try and launch a second non-VPX table from PinballX, I get the error. What is strange is that I can still run VPX tables just fine. My PBX setup is configured to run multiple VP versions (aka VP921, VP995, VPPM5, and VPX tables). I have tried the suggestion others have posted about lowering the textures setting in Visual Pinball, but that doesn't seem to help on my system. Plus, before I rebuilt my environment, I had never encountered this problem before so I'm pretty sure it isn't a hardware related issue. I have changed nothing in my hardware setup (or operating system) since re-building. I have a 4-monitor setup to take advantage of topper videos and/or the new PopUp add-on being developed. Any suggestions I can try? The PBX log file doesn't show anything odd. But when you try and run the second table, you get the fatal error which kicks you back into PBX interface. I have attached my log file just in case it helps. EDIT (Problem Resolved!): I saw that a few version of PBX (2.81) was released. So after upgrading to the new version, I don't get the error any more on any of my tables! Thanks for your continued support with PBX. It truly is a great front-end. log.txt

Ryanc, Lots of great comments so far. I am one to agree with Draco and raBlack. There are too many tables (both good renditions and not so good) just to try and download them all. You will be spending alot of precious time on tables that aren't worth the effort. There are so many fantastic table renditions, that if I were you, I would start there. A good first step would be to sort the various VP download sites and sort the tables by popularity, number downloads, or by rank. Doing so you will be focusing your efforts on the best tables out there (and there are a alot!).

I found the problem to my setup and everything seems to work great now in PBX. I tried searching for "pinball.nv" in the pinemhi.ini file to see if somehow pinemhi was indirectly returning "pinball.nv" from the ROM pretty names. Sure enough, I found an entry that was returning pinball.nv. It was in the pinemhi.ini file as follows: ... Pinball Magic (Redemption)=pmv112r.nv Pinball Magic=pmv112.nv Pinball Pool=pinpool.nv Pinball=pinball.nv Pink Panther (7-digit conversion)=pnkpntr7.nv Pink Panther (sound correction fix)=pnkpntrs.nv Pink Panther=pnkpnthr.nv ... I don't have a VP table installed on my setup that uses pinball.nv, so I just deleted this line from the pinemhi.ini file. And low and behold, everything started working! PBX now started returning all proper ROM names for all my VP tables from all the different system types I set up in VPX. I am now getting high scores showing up on the Information pages in VPX and high scores are getting sent to DNA's LeaderBoard site as well. I can't explain why this was happening to my setup, but I wanted to share this with the community in case others are having a similar problem. I posted a similar response to DNA over at VPForum. Thanks Tom for spending the time to help me track down my issue. ISSUE RESOLVED!

Tom, I'm going to try to uninstall PinballX completely, then re-install and reconfigure. After re-install I will also update pinemhi to the latest version that supports vpinmame 3.0. I'll let you know if things start to work after that. Thanks.

It’s working for some tables, but not others. For example my Black Pyramid VPX table works, but my Attack From Mars doesn’t. Most of my tables are returning the pinball.nv entry. There are only a handful that return the correct ROM name. That is what is so strange— it is working some of the time. It must be how the ROM name is determined, based upon the table that is being played. Is there any magic in how that is done?

I can get it to work just fine on all my tables where the ROM file is recognized in PBX. It's only those tables where it doesn't recognize the ROM where it isn't working. If I run pinemhi.exe at the command prompt and type "pinemhi.exe afm_113b.nv", the high scores for my Attack From Mars table are saving correctly. This works for every one of my tables. But for whatever reason, inside PBX it's not associating the .nv file to the table that I select and play within the PBX interface. Instead, it returns that weird "pinball.nv" value as shown in the stastistics.ini or the log.txt files I sent you. Any suggestions on where I could look next? BTW, I upgraded to the latest version of PBX. It is by far the best virtual pinball frontend out there.

I thought PinEmHi got the ROM name from the PBX log file. My log.txt file is attached and it shows that when I ran the table Black_Rose that PBX "Found PinMAME ROM: pinball.nv". So this pinball.nv reference is actually coming from the pinemhi.ini file somehow? Is there any specific question I could ask DNA_Disburber to help him understand this problem? He directed me to pose my problem to you. :-) log.txt

I saw that DNA_Disturber upgraded his PINemHI Leaderboard plugin recently, so I decided to give it a try. I can get it to work, but only on a few tables. After some research DNA_D and I figured out it has something to do with PinballX and how it is reading ROM names from vpinmame. I have configured my PBX environment to use the Visual Pinball system type to run vpinball.exe, and then use other Systems for launch other versions of VP tables. For example I have System6 configured in PBX as a Visual Pinball system type (System Type = 1) that runs my Visual Pinball X tables (executable = vpinballx.exe). Similarly, I use the "Other System" feature in PBX to run my VP991 tables and VPpm5 tables. The problem I am having is, when I look at the PBX log.txt file, I get the following lines about half way down the log... 12:38:23.4 4/7/2018: C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\Vpinball991.exe RunWait, /STAYINRAM /play -"C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\Tables\Black_Rose_LoadedWeapon.vpt" 12:38:24.2 4/7/2018: C:\PinballX\vpauto.exe 12:38:29.5 4/7/2018: Found PinMAME ROM: pinball.nv Notice the Found PinMAME ROM: pinball.nv? PBX is not recognizing the ROM name for this table. If I go to the statistics.ini file, I see this same problem repeated for nearly every VP table I have. I have attached a copy of my statistics.ini file. The strange thing is, PBX does recognize all my Future Pinball ROM names, and also a select few of my VP tables (like Nascar, Incredible Hulk, No Good Gofers, Monopoly WOW, Harlem Globetrotters, Gladiators, Flash, Meteor, Black Pyramid,). Could it be because when I load a new table I rename it to match the B2S file? For example, the latest iteration of the Riverboat Gambler table from VPForum is called "Riverboat-Gambler_VP9_rob046_Mod_FS_v1.1.vpt". I would rename this to match the B2S file called "Riverboat Gambler (Williams 1990).vpt. I believe PINemHI plugin uses this info to properly work within PinballX to show highscores under the Information Page of the front-end. I am having problem with it showing highscores as well. I think the problems are related. I am currently running PBX 2.36 and vpinmame 3.0. Any insight would be most helpful. Statistics.ini

KODI (XBMC) as Jukebox just got a whole lot easier...
gpstevens replied to RustyCardores's topic in User Projects
I know this thread is over a year old, but I'm curious if you have done any additional work on this topic? Also curious if you could link to a video with your setup in action. I am looking at wanting to add a Jukebox to my cab as well. Thanks.
