Zinc 1.1 troubleshoot

hello everyone,

Am launching zinc from gameEX, I get sound but no Picture I've tried switching from OGL renderer to D3D with no luck my resolution is 800 X 600 on a Nvidia 400MX 64MB. any suggestion? and yes I have set to run at full screen

Other than double check you are deffinitly using the D3D renderer and full screen, no ideas, sorry.

apols, as i know this is an old post, but did this prob get resolved, as i am having the same prob. I have the plugin and zinc games do show up in GameEx, but when i launch a game, I get a blank screen, I get sound, but no display

I attached a zip file with all the ZiNc stuff you need. Rename the current zinc folder you have to something else & try this one. Aside from that, make sure you have

--renderer=.\d3d_renderer.znc --use-renderer-cfg-file=.\renderer.cfg --controller=.\pcfg\controller.znc --use-controller-cfg-file=.\controller.cfg

set in the "zinc options" field in the gameex configuration. If you are not using a controller, you may want to get rid of the "--controller=.\pcfg\controller.znc --use-controller-cfg-file=.\controller.cfg" part of that. I use a Logitech Rumblepad 2 controller, so I've never tested this without a controller. I did test this zip file before I attached it.

Eventually I plan on making a guide & installer for some of these emulators but it's a WIP ATM. For now, this will hopefully remedy your situation.

At the most, your screen may not work the first time. Just exit the game & re-launch, should be fine after that. If you want the settings up to 800x600, change it in the controller.cfg file AFTER you've tested it with these settings. I have an nVidia card myself so you should be able to have ZiNc function with no problems with this setup.

Lastly & VERY importantly, make sure you not only have all the ZiNc roms in the same path as the rest of the MAME ROMs and you have ZiNc enabled in GameEx, but you must also do a GameEx list update AFTER you have ZiNc enabled.
