Hey guys, I have been toying with the wiimote as a lightgun for MAME and I was wondering if we all shouldn't try to contribute some links to other retrogamers and gameex users some good links for our hobby.

I am still looking for a really good lightgun script and maybe some driving game scripts. I have tried a few at www.wiili.org

There seem to be a ton of them here: http://www.wiili.org/forum/glovepie-wii-mo...s-t360-s15.html

but they are completely unorganized...

Anyone with better links?

I have been researching this for months. However, the forum topic you noted, has been the best resource for WiiMote/GlovePie scripts.

This link is a little more organized, but fewer scripts.

As for the magical lightgun script, I have been very disappointed. At some point, I think MAME .122, the MAME dev's added support for multiple keyboards, where now the MAME will only work with WiiMote/GlovePie if you map the outputs to PPJoy. I have been hacking for the last few weeks and got many things to work, except a reliable joystick script using the IR sensor (which would be needed for a lightgun).

I have built my own wiibar for my arcade cab as well as a Wii Cliip so that I could do testing on my laptop.

The thing I don't like about using my Wii remote on my PC is the fact that every time I want to use it I have to go and pair the remote and the PC again which isn't very cab friendly :(

Is there anyway around this?

I have the same problem, currently, but... I'm sure that if we can get the wiimote working well as a lightgun, someone will figure that out...

I've read that using BlueSoleil may in fact solve the issue for some people, but it's not free I don't think... so, there are ways to do it I believe.

Anyway, the wiiclip above looks nice, and, I made my own IR sensor thing for the same reason (wanted one for PC and cab)

I used the BlueSoleil drivers on my last PC but I couldn't figure out a way to do it, it didn't look like something that would be easily scripted either

My new PC has a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse, the Wii remote works just fine with it's default bluetooth stack and it looks like it might be scriptable with AutoHotKey or something but I haven't got around to looking into it yet, I was hoping there might be some other way of doing it rather than relying on a script.

Yeah, a built in way would be nice, but if anyone has a neat "reach out and find my wiimote and connect to it script" I certainly wouldn't mind loading it and other scripts dynamically with bat files or front-end loaders before playing my games... such a setup wouldn't be *too* cumbersome, and certainly about 5 times better than what I currently have to do, which is find the device every time I want to use it.

BTW, Oqqalz, that wii cliip is pretty cool. How'd you make it?
