I have been using older versions of MESS with GameEX and it works great, but I tried running the latest version and either they changed the command lines to run the roms or what? I read the manual from their website and it looks like nothing should have changed, but it will not run from command line. From the UI it works great. So I thought I would ask to see if anyone here is using the newer versions of MESS at all?

Btw I'm using the 64bit version if that matters at all.

I don't use u builds so I wasn't aware of any changes. I doubt they would change the way they had it before after all this time. What is the output of the window when trying to run?

If there were significant changes in MAME, which there were (assembly toolchain & support file command line changes), there were probably changes in MESS too. I would start looking before MESS 0.140 and see if the command line still works and we can post adjustments from there.

u4 introduced toolchain and support changes in MAME. Since MESS follows suit as it is derived from the MAME source, I would expect that is the case.

do yo u compile your own? or do you get already compiled version online? if you compile your own they changed the way it is compiled,it is now done much more similar to MAME

I always use the latest mame\mess version and the CL has not changed.

here is my colecovision CL

mess.exe coleco -cart "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" -joy
