Controls in MAME

Does anyone know the settings to change for controlling trackball and driving games (steering wheel and pedals) for keyboard in mame.

I know you get the TAB menu up but what do I need to change please.

analog controls = define axis

digital controls = define control _inc and _dec

thanks. i managed to find the text file in ctrl that explained all the keys so i set them all to the player keys and all works well - thanks.

it also appears there are many unlisted controls such as LIGH1_X and LIGHT1_Y and another one for "P1_PEDAL" (tag "ADC1")

All looks good. Just reversing the X and Y for Star Wars and ESB, etc - Thanks for your help!

cheats now working... appears you have to place the new cheats.zip into the mame root folder. All works well.

If only I could like the config cheats window to a buton now instead of going through config thenselecting cheats - does anyone know if that is possible?

Probably not possible without a change to the MAME source and recompiling. I wanted to do something similar with turning bezels on/off but it requires going through the menu too, AFAIK.
