]It seems that there might be a bug with GameEx or just something to with me (as it usually is). Anyways, it seems that it can't fine Video/Artwork files for anything that ends in a . (period)

Example: Super Smash Bros.

It just gives me a blank page for anything that has a period at the end.

Anyone else notice this?

i think this is more of a windows problem

sometimes when searching for files if thay are named abcd..??? and your search is abcd it will not locate the file

Windows (or most any OS for that matter) needs a file extension. in the format of filename.extension. Rename the file removng the second period and you should be fine.

Glad to know that sucks, I had a feeling it thought it's extension was probably ..zip

Ive had this problem before.for some reason any game like super mario bros.the artwork doesnt have the . in it.

all you have to do is add the . to the artwork files.no skinny match doesnt do this it must be done by hand

Maybe setting Snap Best Match to Yes Extra search (Slow) might work found in Tweaks/Performance? Not certain it will work and I notice that your roms have no standard naming convention to begin with. I would suggest rebuilding your rom set to a known naming convention and this issue could be avoided aside from what was already suggested and renaming each file. No big deal with a small set but could get ugly.

My names are set to the way they are suppose to be ;D they are named exactly the same way as EmuMovie has them set to so they will get a match for their artworks and videos.

If you looked, they both already have the .

And you tried the setting I mentioned to see if that did anything? I'll have to check on those file names when I get a chance.

Haven't just yet will when I get home from work.

I would do what Frequency has recommended, and rebuild your set to a no-intro,as the video snaps from emumovies are already in the naming format

BTW,to get your game card to show you have to use the image button, and put the link to your card between it

I will probably just remove the . for ones that do as I already have the video/artwork files so I think it should be ok.

This is not just with periods. I'm seeing this issue as well with any punctuation at the end of the file. What's odd is that they show fine in the MAME list, but in other game lists, you loose the graphic. I suspect this is the case because the MAME roms are almost never the full name of the game. ablaster is astro blaster, pacman is Pac-Man, and so on...

So for this...

Bonanza Bros. - SMS

Mr. Do! - Gameboy

Barkley Shut Up and Jam! - SNES

Armorines: Project S.W.A.R.M. - Gameboy

It works fine if you add in something to the ROM name like this....

Mr. Do!.zip change to Mr. Do![!].zip or Bonanza Bros..zip to Bonanza Bros.[!].zip as long the last character in the name is not punctuation.

You have to update the corresponding database with that same name in any of the three choices (usually No-Into is good to use) then all shows OK. You just can't leave the ROM ending in the punctuation. Of course don't forget to update your artwork as well.

On a side note.... I've found as long as the 'Name' column matches other games in other emulators, 9 out of 10 it will link, and show the other platforms in the game info page. The ROM names do not have to be exact matches from platform to platform... BUT in some cases, it has to be exact.

I already did this, I just removed the . as it's really not a bother to me and now they work.
