I'm not sure how many people use this feature. Most people, at this point anyway, tend to use emumovies for videos, snaps, etc. Much of their stuff is available for free. Some is available for subscribed users only. Either way, you can get a lot of useful stuff that might save you some time in not making your own. Good luck!

Although I have never made video snaps, there have been a number of similar threads to your request. For better details, you will want to search the forum. I can say that most recommendations seem to include FRAPS. Perhaps someone else will chime in to provide more details if you can't find a suitable thread.
