Hi All,

I'm new to GameEx and emulation in general but so far its all been fun.

I would like some help setting up GameEx to only list roms that i actuley have in my folders.

So far im only setting up 1 emulator and that's Winkwaks as i have this working and set up OK with out GameEx.

My problem is that GameEx seems to list all games for the Neo Geo system even though i don't have them, when i ran the setup wizard i set rom filter to *.zip thinking it would only list the roms i have but all roms are listed still.

Am i just missing something simple or do i need to make my own list?

Please be gentle with your replies.

Merry Christmas :D

Hello and Welcome.

It sounds like the emulator config is using a map file which would override scanning the folder. Simple delete the text from the map file setting then all should be good :)

Thanks for the quick reply,

That's done the trick only the roms i have are now listed, but now the names are all short versions is there a way to have the long versions?

Not without using a map files. You could always use MAME instead though.

Wait, actually he can just use the MAME database, and use "Use Database Name". You'll have to move the clones to another directory, but he probably would want that anyway.

You can also just give me a listing of the roms in your directory and I can make you a MAP file based off of what you physically have instead of all roms available. If interested then let me know.
