TSpeirs,

I've been a GameEX fan right from it's begining. I used it as an MCE addon and liked it very much.

But......last week I reinstalled my MCE machine and grabbed your latest version (I was using version 1.06 :P ). I was shocked.........

What was one the best MCE plugins became errr........everything and nothing.

It now had DVD support, news reader, FDDShow support, even plans for TV support. It had nag screens, bad taste themes along with startup anims......everything!!!!

I guess GameEx evolved from a MCE plugin to an MCE itself.

Well.......that's great......but not for me! I only wanted a good MAME plugin for MCE and, in my opinion, version 1.06 is miles better for that purpose than 5.12 (even with the limited install option).

So, If now I must donate to get rid of nag screens......I'll donate to a program I like and use and I will sure donate if you can improve the original MCE plugin.

Improvement means a standalone installer for the plugin ONLY and maintaince of the MCE look and feel without the hi-tech mombo jumbo.

Please note that I DO appreciate your work: I only think that you are mixing two quite distinct fields. I guess the MCE plugin has a market as well as the other features do. You can tell for all the forum feedback that your work is widely appreciated.

So.....I would just like you to consider the option to keep the plugin alive and don't let it die inside a PVR package.

Keep up the good work,

Mike

turn off the bits you don't want.

QED.

i like the MCE features and want even more :)

Yes, turn off what you dont need. With configuration it can be exactly the same as version 1. You should have had a little play before posting. Your bad really. Have a good look and your see.

Dont worry about shooting from the hip. It is only down to configuration though. Anywhere I am sure there others that feel the same as you, and I still really aim to please with GameEx. I have added an install option in the version just made available which allows automatic configuration of GameEx just as an MCE MAME Plugin, and only the enhancments since v1.x that relate to using GameEx that way.

Go check it out. I am almost certain its what you want, and even more.

I appreciate the feedback, hopefully I've acted on it well.

Thanks,

Tom

Sorry, am sure this has been resolved already but I have to jump to the defence of Tom who has doen in my view a fantastic job with this piece of software!!

If you dont like features turn them off (though it's not often you hear a complaint about to many features!!!)

big thanks to tom for ALL the changes made and let's hope it continues.
