How do I see preview images of the mame games?

I know this is probably a really easy question. I've checked the faq and also looked at the settings myself. I'm trying to figure out a way to see preview images of the games before I select them while scrolling through the list of mame titles. I see in the theme screenshots some setups that are like this. Regardless of what default theme I pick, I get no images.

Make sure you have the path set to point to your preview images. If an image is found for the game then it should automatically display it.

You also have to actually have the images. LOL and they need to be named the same as your roms. www.emumovies is a good source for videos, if you need them.

I figured the way I phrased my response, it might become obvious for pshayes that he needed the images too. I guess I didn't want to be too blatant. That's what we have you around for, right?!

I thought gameex actually grabbed the images during install when it built the rom list for mame. My bad for thinking that. Where can I get screenshots or do I need to capture them myself? What directory do I need to put the images into? Can they be zipped?

No it doesnt do that, at least yet anyway

Ill let others provide a more detailed response if needed, but there not hard to find.

If all you want is the snaps you can get these from www.gameex.com. Although its nice to have the other artwork as well such as the cabinets and titles. One such place to get them is www.emumovies.com. It also looks like a good place to get all of them is here: http://www.progettoemma.net/?snaps

These days the big thing is video preview images, instead of static snaps. For these go to emumovies.com

I grabbed some snapshots and have them showing up in the default themes. I have a few follow-up questions. I've noticed that the preview image of the Mame rom sometimes is incorrect and if you select the rom from the master list the correct image shows up. Is this a bug in gameex? The correct image must be associated with the game since it shows up in the select game screen. Any ideas?

I'm also wondering if there is a way to adjust the size of the preview images in the theme? Perhaps this involves a theme editor?

For those who use the videos, how large was the movie directory if you have a full mame romset?
