A while back the screen saver function in gamex stop working. I finally decided to take a look at it and looked in the log and found the following repeated for I image as many times and the screen saver was supposed to be started.

09:34:14.1 1/23/2009: Starting Attract Mode

09:34:14.1 1/23/2009: Exception occured running Attract Mode

09:34:14.1 1/23/2009: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

09:34:16.6 1/23/2009: Returning From Attract Mode

I do not think I have any thing configured in HTPC that is not the default.

Any ideas of where to start?

Looks like you have DVD's set up in screen saver? I didn't think that was possible...cool.

Try disabling that. Also, it would be better to post your entire log file.

One thing you could try as a test is to disable videos in your screen saver. Start the Setup Wizard and search for "attract mode". Then, just set "Play Videos too:" to "No". See if that fixes the error. If so, then we can go from there.

I did try that and got the same results.

It looks to me like GameEx may not be installed properly. I would try a manual install from the web site over the current installation.

I will try that out and let you know how it goes.
