Ok guys... I really wish I were not at work right now so I can test this new emu version.. Naomi support will be available in a few hours.

What does this mean for gameex? Well we will see if the current command line is still going to launch games..

Ill be sure to let you guys know as soon as I can test.

Unfortuatly it wont be till 9 more hours :(

Go home early Brian! Tell work you're not feeling well. :P

Very awesome news! Thanks Brian! I checked the cfg file it looks similar to the old one. I haven't messed with it much though there are two separate emulators one for Dreamcast and one for Naomi. Let us know what you find out :)

Sadly, I cannot get it to work with the imageloader like the other version? If anyone has it working please post your config!

Sorry, it does work.. Just a little bit of tinkering needed

This is if you have an earlier version working already with gameex

rename nulldc_noMMU to Nulldc (mmu cannot be seen in full screen from what i see)

Run NullDC and do ya settings

Open nulldc.cfg in notepad

set

Emulator.Autostart=1

Emulator.noconsole=1

Fullscreen.Enabled=1

loaddefaultimage=1

defaultimage=default.gdi (rename from "Defualt", not sure this even matters?)

save...

Should work ok.

(I get a Vista error when exiting though)

EDIT: I have to set nulldc.cfg to read only, otherwise when it crashes it sets the fullscreen to 0

I love nulldc, it's really a high end piece of software and for what it does it needs medium system requirements!

so is there any kind of improvement? do games run better/ more support for more games?

gonna try it out of course... just wanted to hear your opinions about it!

I only tried a handfull of games. The sonic intro is still slow and there are still graphical problems on several titles, aerowings 2 intro for one. I could not notice any speed improvement on any title, even running at 1920x1200 it runs full speed by fps display - though never seems *smooth* at any res.

I have not got round to trying the games that failed to work on earlier versions - I may well have a look tonight, there are well over 150 in my collection alone that never worked (all perfect dumps), so if a few of these work, that will make this a very worthwhile update.

thx for the info! do you use the tosec dumps? how much space do all the dc games eat up?

Currently just over 120 gigs :blink: and they are all zipped.

Wow!! Yea the DC can take up quite a bit of space especially if they're GD-Roms :D Btw has anyone gave the Naomi version a shot?

I have not got round to it yet.. Spent too much time on the dc stuff.

BTW. of the 25+ non-working games i have tried, exactly 0 run on the new build :(

as i read it the new build is more based around the new naomi support then supporting new games... what a pity :(

Not true at all. There are 2 versions... A naomi one and a straight dc release.

The Nullpvr has been updated and fixes have been made to ikarugui game. and a few others,

You will need pixelshader2 support on your card.

nullpvr is the cause of a crash for me every time I exit a game?!

Mine crashes on exit too. I have a nvidia 9800 gx2, so it is not a pixel shader issue. Also, it is stated that changes have been made to nulldc to increase the number of running games. Nothing new runs on my set up?

Anyone have reccomended setups for this version for dreamcast? I about have Marvel Vs Capcom 2 running good but still see some graphical glitches and if I use most of the audio plugins I get crackeling on the audio and the one that doesnt do that sometimes loses sound all together :(

I've had my dreamcast sitting in the closet now for quite some time lol and have been wanting to break it out for house of the dead 2, how does this emulator handle lightgun input (if it does)? havent looked in to it but woudl be fun to messaround with if it uses the mouse and sync my Wii mote up and finally be able to play on my bigscreen lmao (lightgun only works on CRT TVs :( )

if you are using vista... Open the nulldc.cfg and change your Nullacia (sound) buffer to 2048.

That should help the sound stuttering.

I run it pretty good on my dualcore 2.4 ghz

The older build is faster tho..

Naomi is full speed :)

Is nullDC more or less the only game in town? I am setting up dreamcast now. Is it worth me looking at Chanktast?

And do you recommend I locate and use 100.b.1.6?

I have a 4850 and null crashes when exiting the game at full screen but not when in a window. So I launch the game in a window and then use Alt Enter to take it to full screen, runs and plays fine. Then before I exit the game, I Alt Enter again to change it back to window and exit out of the game which avoids null from crashing.

So if anyone has a work around, say the word otherwise it plays great on my setup.

ps. When mine crashes it alters my config file as well setting it back to a window. Crazy!
