I had a problem with updating as well. Mine was not the exact error as yours but was a directx issue as well. Not sure if something is wrong with updating but I did a manual update to fix.

I think yourll find 9.27 is fine. Ive seen your error logs. It seems the auto update was not working 100% in some cases and the new flag images that were introduced wernt installing. The solution is just to do a manual install.

Did the manual Install and everything back to normal. Only problem I had I wanted to add several options such as the arcade ambience and it won't connect to the web site durning the install process. So I did the install without the addons.

A quick question how do I turn on the flags so I can see them

I think this brings up an idea that I'm sure everyone will hate. How about when there is an update of Gameex, that there is a section in the Setup Wizard for "New Options" that way it would be easy to find them, and try them out. In the following (major) release, the items could be moved to appropriate locations, and new items added to the "New Options" list. I do know that this would be a little more work for Tom, but I think it would be handy for everybody else. If this gets more than one "hey - good idea", I will make a feature request.

Nothing to do with the latest update the link to arcade ambience just got broken. Ill fix it for the next release.

Theres no option for the flags. They should automatically show on the game info page when using 7-zip goodsets.

I have yet to see the flags. Can you post a screen shot for us Tom? I would like to see what it's suppose to look like.

Nice Tom! Well the reason I never saw them was cuz I only use the Atari 2600 & 7800 goodsets and don't see any regions within those systems. But nice addition. Would be cool to work with no-intro sets as well. Thanks for the info Tom!

I have the same problem. It keeps trying to reinstall and then roll-back. I get the same error (DirectX)

I think what they are saying is: got to www.gameex.net, and download the file from there and install it, as opposed to letting gameex update itself. I think there's a new release out again today, so maybe the problems have been solved.

Yeah, there is a file lock of some sort, I just dont know what the file is thats stopping it from updating.

That is correct. Another one for Tempest! ;) . It's been the only way i've been able to update to the latest release lately. Updating within GameEx hasn't worked for me with the last few versions. :(

Just to confuse things further there was another auto update issue, as I uploaded 9.27 instead of 9.28 so it keeps trying to update as the dbase is saying correctly the current version in 9.28. Will be fixed shortly.

Ahhh. Ok. Thanks Tom! Thought I was just doing something wrong on my end this time around. ;)
