Hello,

I just upgraded the computer in my cabinet and thought I would try out the video preview of multimedia files. I haven't tried this and a few other features because of the age of my old computer (I'm not going to say how old it was but when it was purchased that annoying guy was saying "You're getting a Dell, Dude"). Video preview won't show the video and would not stop playing the audio of whichever movie I pointed to first. I would have to exit GameEx to stop it (playing a different movie wouldn't help, I would just hear two different audio streams). I upgraded to a dual core 2.0 GHz, with 2 GB of Memory and an older AGP video card. Is this not enough computer to take advantage of this function? Additionally most of my movies are MP4's and I'm using a splitter and FFDShow to play. They play fine once I turned this feature off. Your help is appreciated.

Are you using the recommended build of FFDShow from the GameEX site (it may help). I think recent builds of FFDShow are broken with regard to GameEX.

Thank you iano. That fixed it. I had downloaded the latest stable version; not the one from 2005 on the GameEx other download page. Viewer works great now. I'm also looking into having videos of the games play as well. I'm still using snaps. Anyone got any suggestions on features to try now that I've upgraded my cabs computer?

I'm a big fan of Headkaze's CPWizard...but you don't need a fast computer to run it, so maybe you're already using it?

No I haven't tried it. I'll investigate it and try it out. Thanks for the advice.
