Does anyone have a games list of games that do no require keyboard or mouse, and use single digital controls instead of analogue. Also games that work well with GameEX (i.e. do not crash it or exit to Windows).

Most of the new games use analogue or dual analogue controls whereas arcade sticks are digital. Also, my cab does not use keyboard or mouse.

Thanks.

Do your Arcade Controls connect to a Keyboard encoder.. eg.. IPAC or gamepad.. Eg GPWIZ?

I think you could use romlister to find the Mame roms you are looking for...If you want me too I could run a list for you, I would just need to know how many buttons, and If you have a joystick (4way,8way)

As far as the "crash" issue, if the games work outside of Gameex, they should work inside of it. What games/emulators are you having problems with?

Sorry for not getting back to your responses sooner.

Tempest:

Good advice on the roms but I don't want roms, I want legal, licensed, over the counter games. So far I've figured (atleast I think I have) Outrun2006 works with single, digital controls. However it crashed a few times last night and I haven't got to the bottom of that yet.

Brian Hoffman:

Yes, I use IPAC. Also, the sticky looks good but is it listing any old good game or games that specifically work with arcade controls (which are single digital sticks), and that work seamlessly with GameEX?

My main issue is that I don't want to go out and buy 50+ games only to find when I load them up that 90% of them use analogue, or even worse DUAL analogue (like xbox 360, ps3) controls. In this case you need keyboard and mouse to play. I only have 8-way digital Sanwa joysticks and 6 buttons.

The purpose of the sticky was to find exactly what your looking for, everygame I've tried from that list work flawlessly with my ipac, a couple of them do require a bit of work but the majority of them work out of the box

That's great news Stu! Thank you! I'll start working through them now.

If there are any you feel I should stay clear of, please let me know. I'm talking about games that have bad controls and don't work well with GameEX. For example I know LittleFighter2 is no good because it won't play at full screen.

Thanks.

The only 1 that springs to mind is Worms World Party, I had it going in my XP machine but you have to use a combination of PPJoy and JoyToMouse to get it working and now I can't get PPjoy working in Vistax64 so I can't use it any more, Virua Tennis 1 and 3 also require the use of PPJoy for player 2 so if your on Vista you'd best avoid them, not sure about Vista 32bit though

I only use XP however I've tried my hand at PPJoy and I just can't get it to work. I think so long as the game does not use analogue controls it will be fine.

I'm not convinced that list on the sticky is completely accurate. It lists BloodRayne 2 as a cab compatible game, however this game requires dual analogue controls. Cabs don't have dual analogue controls only game pads do.

I'm running both BloodRayne 2 and Devil May Cry 3 on my cab with my mini ipac and they work perfectly fine so I think it's your source that is not completely accurate.

Ok thanks Stu. I'm gonna go ahead and purhchase these games and see for myself. But if you say you have them on your cab and they work, that's good enough for me.

Thanks again buddy.

Simpsons Hit and Run, Rayman 2, Psychonauts - these games state keyboard AND mouse are needed.

Are you sure these games are cab friendly? Or are you using trackballs?

If you have a trackball, then you have a mouse. If it uses a keyboard, you can use either XPadder (for gamepad -> keystroke) or an ipac. If you want to play a game and you have the real desire, you can play anything on a cab! Of course, it may not be very fun

Haven't tried Rayman 2 but Simpsons and Psychonauts work fine without a mouse, I don't have a trackball

You should be able to get demo's of these games too
