Hi All,

Been busy the last while setting up GameEx again after my steam powered PC died, nearly have it all set.

I've even gotten used to setting up Daphne, which took me months last time, now I got it done in 10 minutes! Woohoo, go me!

Two little things have cropped up, though: nothing big, but irritating.

1) My Most Played list doesn't update: according to it, I never played anything. I can assure you, that ain't true!

2)I have Bezels disabled: they don't come on in Mame, but they do come on in Screensaver. I want them off in both.

Am I missing something really stupid (probably  )

Thanks,

Johnny

Setup Wizard's search feature is great for things like this. Select Start->Programs->GameEx->Setup Wizard. Click Next, then select Search, Next. Type in Bezel. You will see it shows "Attract/Screensaver", select it then click Next. Set "Show MAME Bezel" to false.

I found this:

Hi, favorites are stored in C:\program files\gameex\data\data.mdb

Do you have knowledge of MS access? If so you can load up the database and do an export, otherwise theres no automated way to do it with GameEx.

It was from Tom, so its probably right! I would assume that the "Most Played" list is stored there as well. I just re-installed Gameex, and lost my Favorites so I'm going to copy this back from my old directory....I hope it works!

In regard to 1, I know the games dont appear in most played until youve played them several times. You also need to make sure there set to appear for each emulator, although I think the default is yes.

Are they showing up in the statistics?

HI guys,

HK, I must have an old version of GameEx, that option doesn't show in the wizard. I tried manually in the Advanced Configuration option, but it doesn't appear there, either?

Tom, yeah, they appear in statistics. I have been just jumping in and out of games, not really playing one in particular a lot: I'll try entering and exiting a few a couple of times, see if that does it.

Tempest, i have zero use in Excel, although I have a previous install of GameEx, I might have a look through that and try it later.

Thanks all!

I may have misunderstood your situation, I had just reinstalled Gamees to see if that would solve some problems I was having. When finished installing it, I had lost my favorites, and most played games. I still had all my old files, and replacing the new data.mbd with my old one did indeed fix the lost favorites. It sounds like you had a total crash, and no old files to move.... :(

Hi Tempest,

No, you were dead right: I had an old install on a backup disc: replaced the data file and I'm back in action again. Thanks, man!

So...is there a mininum number of times a game must be played before it appears here? I'm a completely new user to GameEx and the Statistics section lists both the number of times certain games have been played as well as how long.

The MOST PLAYED menu item however, when I enter it, still stubbornly refuses to show anything.

There is a minimum number, but I don't know what Tom has it set to. If you only play each game 1 time, you wouldn't want your list to be EVERY game, that would defeat the purpose. You would prefer that it only list games that have been fired up say 5+ times to make sure it's one you actually like. There has been discussion on the way people would like to see this feature implemented, but Tom seems to like the way it is. If you have an opinion/request, go ahead and add it to the feature request thread.
