The tips I got after my last post were awesome, so I hope someone can help me iron out a couple of problems. I'm trying to use a playstation 2 controller with project64 and can't seem to get the configure program to work. The controller works in nestopia, znes and magicengine. When I click on something to change it in the input configure program, it will not accept inputs from the analog sticks, d pad, or buttons. My other very minor problem is that in gamex where emulated games are located (nestopia, etc.) there is no picture associated with magicengine in the menu. Is there a way to manually add a picture of a turbografx to the menu? I would appreciate any help given.

Console images go in the logo area of your theme. The picture must be the same name as what you called the emulator in the emulator section. For example, in gameex, I have a section called Board Games. Therefore, in the logo area of my board games I have a .png file called Board Games.png

What method are you using to control project 64. Gameex's input, Pinnacle Profiler, Xpadder?

I'm pretty new to this so I'm not sure what you mean by what method I'm using with PJ64. I tried to configure a playstation 2 contoller using the input config mode from within project 64 under options.

Make sure you have the checkmark next to plugged for controller. Then try to map it. Otherwise PJ64 may only accept keyboard commands in which you would have to use a middle man program such as Pinnacle Game Profiler or Xpadder to configure it.

I remember having that checked off and even selected the controller on the pulldown menu. It wouldn't map it, but I see what you're saying now about the middleman program. Which one is best, and where do I find them? Thanks for the help by the way.

Pj64 has a plugin system...Many people have made INPUT PLUGINS. That allow you to use gameepad devices. Some are better than others. Google them. Also check into the VIDEO PLUGINS aswell as you might get not only better framerates but better picture quality as well.

As far as the PSX controller goes. It mainly depends on the driver used... If you let windows drivers do its thing it will work but not correctly. The POV hats (analog sticks) will only work if you press the analog button on the controller and that analog stick on the left will function as the DPAD. not exactly what your after.

A correct driver will let you use the POV hats correctly.

So in short choose the correct plugin and get the correct driver.
