Other Emulators besides mame - Black Screen

I know at some point I came across something that told me how to fix this problem, but I cant seem to find it now...

When I load other emulators besides mame, like zinc for example, the screen turns black and i have to alt tab to zinc and hit escape to come back to gameex.

Any suggestions?

Make sure you have "Show Desktop" set to "YES"

Or if the emulator supports multiple different render's, select and use the DX one...generally this is an issue with OpenGL.

I have "Hide Desktop" set to "NO" which i guess is the same thing unless there is a redundant option that i'm missing somewhere.

yeah thats the correct setting...I think its named differently between the GUI and the INI import files.

Nah, I think I just forgot what it was called. Been awhile since I've updated my settings. Been trying to get my new HTPC built.
