To whoever may be interested, I have taken approximately 1000 video previews for the most popular games. I would like to help all cabbies and gameex users out there in this big way. I have videos for a2600, lynx, colecovision, dreamcast, gba, gbc, genesis, n64, ngp, nes, n64, visual pinball, psx, sega 32x, sega cd, game gear, sms, snes, and t-16.

We are talking about 4 gb of video previews.

Anyone interested in hosting? I think it would be cool to have a thread on gameex where people could just come to get the videos. I dunno.

Hey,

Are there any that emumovies does not have? You may want to get in contact with Circo and work together. Just a thought.

www.emumovies.com

The problem is that you have to pay for cd's and looking at it it's pretty expensive. I'm talking about offering these for free. All videos are of my own recordings.

they are on torrents but the thing is its kinda a double edged sword becouse those sites there have the torrents have roms as well

emumovies (circo) however do sell them on cd packs as well but i dunno how trust worthy he is i did win a Dragons lair 2 Org. dvd on his site 2 years ago but never reviced anything got alot of excuses but mby when you pay its differents :)

but i guess linking to emumovies there links further to other rom torrents sites dunno if thats any problem :)

Just FYI: As far as I can see he (Circo) is deffinitly a stand up guy.

I second that (no offense intended). He has helped me (via email) on how to make game previews for myself and has always been very helpful.

Just my 2 cents...

:)

The torrent links from emumovies.com no longer take you to a web site, they are strictly torrent files, you do not have to log in to a site or anything. The whole reason for me offering up the DVD's was about 100+ emails from people asking me to do so. Trust me, I would rather not spend the time making them, but it has allowed me to do a few things with the site. I felt bad that people who couldn't download the sets bought them and had to buy again for updates, so I have moved the site to a new server and I give those folks lifetime ftp access to get the new stuff.

The problem is that the EmuMovies collection will soon top 50GB, and try as I might, there is no perfect way to host them freely.

I distribute in 3 ways:

#1 Torrents - Everything but nintendo is golden! Nintendo torrents have to be hosted on a different tracker and never last more than a week. Any ideas would be appreciated.

#2 DVD Sets - Cost a little money but nothing extravigant. And it is a nice professional product to boot.

#3 FTP Access - Free to folks who have bought the dvd collection or have donated to the site. If I just left it open to everyone the bandwidth costs would shut me down in a month so I figured this was the best way. Also, if you are a developer or contributer to the emulation, front end, plug in etc scene email me for free ftp access.

TO MAKE IT CLEAR: There are no links anywhere on emumovies.com to any sites with roms. Try and find one :P

In fact all of the nintendo sites are up at a very good torrent site but it is chock full of roms so the link to that site is not available on my site.

Not to say that there didn't used to be but the brand new site is up (90%) done and there ended up being better ways to do the torrent thing. Scroll down to the bottom of the home page for the current torrent links. And please seed what you take :)

Night: I remember that Dragon's Lair II thing back when the site was new. It was a giveaway because I had two of them, I remember you didn't recieve yours, but I couldn't really go out and by another one to giveaway. And that was before I ever offered anything like DVD sets and stuff. Sorry if that upset you, and sorry that you never recieved your giveaway item. OFF TOPIC - I just switched over to GameEx and your wip's for the multi emu themes are incredible. Any idea when they will be completed?

Hiya,

Just a note, I'd been hunting off and on for the torrent links on emumovies for a long time and never found them until seeing you mention 'scroll down' in this thread. It was confusing because there are page links to the 'collections', but no torrent links on any of those pages. The torrent links I did find elsewhere didn't appear to match the collections pages, so I figured I was missing something, or the site had in fact stopped hosting torrents.

Thanks for your straightforward post here. I think a little clarity on your site will to a lot to dissuade all the pay rumors (I've seen a few). BIG GIANT RED ARROWS pointing to the torrent links probably wouldn't hurt :P

Thanks!

Still working on it, thanks for the input. The reason for torrent links not on the collections page anymore is that it's just one big torrent file now. Now there was about four months where the site just went to crap, new baby and hosting issues. But that's all pretty much been corrected now.

UPDATE: Just updated the front page of the website to hopefully make it a little clearer. Bold red type do the trick?

kenclops,

You can host it on the public ftp server over at my site, all you have to do is updoad it. I can't promise how long it will stay up depending on bandwidth. But at least a few months, at that point I would just move it over to the private side. I'll shoot you over an ftp account if you are interested, let me know. I would suggest that you make it one file so that it is easy to link to. I will also include a link over at my site.

I have plenty of bandwith to host the files too... But wouldn't it be better if we all just shared the torrent link here? You know, download the torrent via file attachment. I can most definately help seed...

send me the ftp server. I'll see if I can zip up each of the avi's by console name. What zip method would be the best compressed and most easiest access for everyone?

Probably RAR?

I personally like RAR, but a lot of people have been using 7zip lately especially with the arcade stuff. Whatever is easiest though.

As I currently am rar'ing them, there are two things I should let you know.

1.) This is by no means a collection of videos for EVERY SINGLE GAME IN THE WORLD. Whoever downloads them will be satisfied however.

2.) In some cases, you will have to rename the videos to match up with your rom names. I have done the best that I could in terms of providing quality names that don't have extra crap at the end or something.

3.) Okay, there's a third thing: Gameex normally runs avi previews in a ittty bitty little screen. I doubled that size of the screen and so these are high quality 80% indeo 4.5 compressed avi's that will look great even in big screens. Later, I'll take a snapshot of how big my avi preview screen is.

BTW... my favorite and hardest video to take was for the psx: Big Game Hunter. I'm playing at wanting to capture a deer in the video and I kept on saying to myself: "Where the f**k are all the deer" Well, watch the video and I barely caught one in sight.

4.) Geeesh! I keep forgetting to tell you that none of these videos have sound (I think except for 1 video in snes) so as to not mess up with your music playing in the background for gameex.

Okay, they are all rar'ed. I may have been wrong on how big this would uncompressed as compressed it came out to 3.5 gb.
