Is there a way to install GameEx without a connection?

I'm running GameEx on a computer I have at home that doesn't have an internet connection, but it wants a connection. Is there a way to avoid this? Thanks.

Just make sure that you have .net Framework (at least 1.1), latest Direct X and Windows Mediaplayer 9 or later installed and it should work. Also read the FAQ on this page for more on this topic. And choose not to download the default themes.

I think the DirectX thing may have been the problem. The install file for it was trying to connect to the net too. I know I have the framework installed. If DirectX 9 wasn't there, would the GameEx install try to DL it?

Yes, but it will ask you first.

Ok, I found the non-web version of DirectX 9.0c on downloads.com. I can burn it to a disk. I have the 11mb install file download of GameEx. Should that require an internet connection to install GameEx after I've installed DirectX?

No just unccheck the box to download themes. There available on the downloads page if you want to burn to cd.
