how do you enable your trackball for the mame command line version? i'd like to enable it in the default game options, not just for one game. please and thank you.

i went into the mame.ini file and changed mouse to 0, didn't work, changed it to 1, didn't work, went into advance mame options in gameex config, tried adding the command -mouse, didn't work, tried -[no]mouse wouldn't launch games. i don't know what to do.

Go to your MAME dir, open your mame.ini file and edit

### Input device options ###

mouse 1

trackball_device mouse

That should do it. I think you can do this via the mame in-game menu (~ button I think) on a per game basis as well. This should work for a USB based trackball/mouse.

You have to run the mame command line tool to create the .ini file. The switch you are looking for is:

mame -createconfig

This will create the file for you to modify.
