with how advance this front end is, i find it exceptionally hard to believe you can't change the background of your mame pages, meaning a custom theme. I have the loveliest background images for all my emulators, video, radio, jukebox, and daphne, (thanks to fire_brand) and the mother of all emulators MAME is stuck on my start page background image! even if you have to type code in a config file, i know there is a way, but can't seem to figure it out! please help!

I'm not sure what you are doing wrong. Mine works. Once you click all mame games it should show your new background.

katuuuz there is no need for three posts on the same topic. I am not 100% sure about the situation with the Mame and Daphne backgrounds, but from what I can gather it's simply a limitation at this time. I did mention about fourth post on this thread, that it's probably on the adjenda when Tom looks at adding more support for the Theme Editor. As you can imagine there are heaps of things to do, and it's not always the feature you want the most that is next.

i know game ex is always under serious renovating, and i guess my feature isn't the damnest important thing, as it seems in the heat of the moment. sorry again, i may just change my name to kapost. haha. keep up the stellar work.

P.S. I tried changing my 'mamebak' pic in the theme, and it was to no avail. i don't know how you got yours working ling.

I assume you are using the theme editor? I also assume you choose the mame background in the editor to change? Try resizing it to your specs(ie. 800x600). In the old editor it wold sometimes not save. Everything working for me now. What file type are you tying to use as a background(ie. Gif, Jpeg, Png)? I know sometimes the editor doesnt like the file I throw at it. So I have to convert to Jpeg or Png.
