Ambient audio plays over jukebox

I haven't used the jukebox much until the recent improvements were made, but I THINK I used to have it set up so that when the jukebox started playing the ambient sounds went away. Now it doesn't and I can't figure out where this is to change. Any help?

And how do I make it NOT start playing automatically when I enter the jukebox?

Not sure you can via an option, it annoys me a bit aswell...

If nobody comes up with an answer and you use the Windows Media Player Library to play your stuff there's a fanastic kludge I found a while back!

Create a playlist in WMP with no songs (or one song then delete the song) and use that as the jukebox playlist via the config app audio settings. Also set the Play Music/Radio on startup, but disable the Radio in Multimedia.

This forces GameEx to 'play' your empty playlist!. Going to the Jukebox menu maintains the silence!

Downside: GameEx will load WMP (and its database?) during startup. This slows my load down a bit, so I decided just to let the music play in the end! Unfortunately if you don't have music playing at startup, entering the jukebox still plays all tunes by default.

Might need to be a feature request...

No help but a similar problem. Same thing happens to me when switching from radio to jukebox. In most cases radio doesn't stop playing but instead you'll hear radio + jukebox in paralell

Highly appreciated, standing ovation !!! Do not understand this "feature" either. Was already my question/suggestion in two or three threads a while ago but I never got an answer on that .

Anyway good to know that I'm not alone with this... .

I have that problem as well. Additionally something happend where MAME would play without sound. In the runlastgame.bat there was command line that stated -nosound but in my GAMEX config that switch wasnt there I believe it had somthing to do with attract mode but couldnt get mame to run properly until I disabled arcade ambience. weird huh

Well this part IS an option you can set in the "audio" config tab. There are four options to how the jukebox quits playing or continues playing during emulation.
