Just to make sure,i want to update my version to the latest one(i have read the forum but am still a little unsure),do i just execute the executable and it will install itself over my previos one?

I tryed to update earlier but when i had done this i had to reinstall everything over again(gameex and all emulaters)because once this was done all that showed on the opening was multimedia and something else,i cant remember(NO GAMES LISTS AT ALL).

Please show me the way :(

Should be OK just to let GameEx do it. I updated from 6.53 on my cab recently, no problems.

I always take a copy of the stable GameEx BEFORE I do an update so that I can reverse the operation. Just copy the whole directory somewhere else. If it goes horribly wrong, delete and copy it all back! GameEx doesn't use the registry so this should work fine. I tend to do the same with MAME aswell. Don't want the cab out of action because you find a new bug nobody's reported yet...

I've never had a problem with updating GameEx. It never corrupts the old version or anything like that for me. I guess the failsafe method of backing up could make sure you can restore if anything goes wrong. The newer versions of GameEx have automatic update which seems to work fine for me too.

There are times when Tom adds new features and turns them on by default, so occationally you have to go into the config to turn them off, but it's good to be able to check out the new features that your might miss otherwise.
