Probably bootleg version from along time ago or a machine that had some home-made work done on it

Look at this spaceinvaders_1.jpg

Notice the color of rockets and spaceships - red vs white

Notice the front panel (bottom) different picture (spaceships vs alien with missile)

Notice the buttons are in different positions and different colors

If you are a collector - you may want to question these...maybe this is a space invaders prototype cabinet?

Hope this helps

What is it worth? Well that depends on your pocketbook

Personally - if it is local (no shipping) ...maybe $100

But I dont know what your intent is...did you want it for Space Invaders only Or GAMEEX and mame?

Think about it...that is probably a black and white monitor which means you'll need a special video card and a computer to drive it

Then it probably has 1 speaker and from 1978 might be blown (sounds like wax paper on a comb at best)

Also - no joystick - which eliminates about 6000 games

No trackball - so another 400 games

If you going to replace the guts and just want the frame and gut out the insides and have the replacement stuff (monitor joysticks blah blah blah) you might want to drop the price even more so

If you got the know how, just build a cabinet

My first cabinet, I used a desk setup from Staples

(similar to http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s...2:CG33:CL140512

but all wood and like $29)

I got cheap MDF board from Home Depot and put sides on it ... a cut off some peices here, panel here, light there and bingo

I think it was a total of $50 buck (minus computer and monitor and joyticks)

Looked like MOD furnature but did the job while I built the next one

The first one was proof of concept and my second one allow me to take measurements of things the didnt fit quite right so it did in next cabinet

Building a cabinet from ground up is way more fun

I hope I provided some useful info here to you
