Well I would google for a "clrmame tutorial" to get the details, but you need to "rebuild" with the option set to whichever set type you want. Just be sure to change your rebuild directory to a different one from your original. Then you won't have to be worried about screwing something up--you can experiment as much as you want. The sequence is this: create a dat file from a mame binary that has a list of all the roms, use the dat file to "scan" your roms to see how close your roms match the list (and optionally fixing inconsistencies as well), then "rebuild" your set if you want a different set type.
