Hi all,

although I guess that Tom is out for vacation (if so: enjoy it!) as he wasn't active in the board for a couple of days I'm pretty sure that he'll return to us some day :)

I guess I found a bug in the jukebox (yeah it's me and the jukebox again ;) )

When you have more than one album with the same title they don't show up as separate albums in the "sort by album" list.

I.E. You have "The Cure - Best of" (20 tracks) and you have "Robbie Williams - Best of" (15 tracks)

You won't find these two albums in the list but instead you'll find one of the two with 35 tracks

As I have by now five different "Best of" albums in my list I end up with one (arbitrary chosen ?) "Best of" album containing 80 song from 5 different albums.... .

Hope you get the point. Can anybody confirm this?

Ah yes, I use the mp3-tag method... .

I have had the same problem with my Audiotron. For a while I thought mp3 tags would be the death of me. Do I use ID3v1 or ID3v2 or both, do I add album art to the tag or just a pic in the album's folder? After several months of organizing my mp3s I finally got my tags (mostly) how I want them. For the naming problem you are having I would do this, simply change "The Cure - Best Of" to "The Cure - The Best of the Cure". This will fix your problem now in GameEx, as well as ensure that future programs you play your mp3s in will also see "best of" albums as unique and not one huge album. I hope this helps and is not too simplistic.

Thanks for replying. It's somehow good to know I am not the only one out there having this problem :( . I tried out exactly the same things you did without any success.

I also thought of renaming the "best of" to "Best of Xxx" but this is only a workaround and not a solution of the problem. Apart from that it is not so very convenient to manually change all the mp3 tags. Normally (the hopefully continued) freedb does that job for me with great success (BTW: Do you know of a freeware ID-Editor that could do the job in a batch process)?

I still think that it is sort of a bug in the jukebox feature Tom should know about and may be we get some statement on this.

Thanks for this, and yes I would consider this a bug, and I'll try to get it fixed when I get a chance.

Tom.
