Hi all. I`d been messing about with the key mappings while i was using my keyboard as a controller, I now have an x-arcade 2 player stick and was wondering if theres an easy way to reset all controls and then enable the x-arcade so I don`t feel that thers something not quite right with my setup? cheers

You should just be able to set enable custom keyboard controls to false as GameEx natively supports the X-Arcade.

If you do want to reset custom controls ini file itself. You should be able to simply just delete the file, and reinstall GameEx (without uninstalling first).

GameEx "automatically" supports the X-Arcade default controls, so there's no setting for it.

Glad your having fun ;)

On a related note - I am running a slikstik classic on my cab with GameEx and have a few questions

First, my middle "mouse" button often gets pressed accidentally when gaming and it opens the "view controls" screen that you see from the main game menus. Is there a way to shut this off, so as not to keep interrupting game play?

Second, I know that you created a listing on the docs page of what buttons you can use to work your way through GameEx (e.g. volume up, next song, etc.) but I have found that most of the keys listed don't correspond to GameEx as they are listed. What is the best way to change GameEx to more accurately fit my Slikstik?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Run the GameEx configuration utility...

First point:

In Advanced MAME: Ingame CP View VK=76 (76 is "L")

Set to something else (or blank?). VK list in GameEx\config\emulators\vkcodes.htm

Second point:

I think most of the key-presses work as documented (I can't vouch for DVD ones as I don't use them). Column 1 is standard keyboard, column 4 refers to MAME standard game keys.

In Input Settings: Enable SlikStik and IPAC support = "YES" may help you I think...

If you've remapped any MAME keys you'll need to translate column 4 to your stick / MAME configuration.

If you want to change some of GameEx's key assignments:

In Input Settings: Enable Custom Keyboard/Joystick controls = "YES" and press EDIT to change scancodes.

Regards
