Where is the new function to do this?? Thanks!

If you have 'Show Create Snaps' enabled in the configurator, just click on create snaps from within GameEx. It will give you an option there to make snaps or videos.

I tried to make some video snaps for N64 and they all came out to be 256+MB each! I noticed after a while when I checked the progress through another computer on my network and saw that I had used up 20GB. Did I do something wrong?

You need to select a codec. When you create videos, you should get a window come up for compression options. You should select a good codec to use. Uncompressed should not be selected and does not work anyway. I recommend installing a divx, or xvid encoder and encoding using that.

You can get one for free and legally by installing FFDSHOW, but the latest daily build has bugs.

This one works:

Otherwise use Intel Indeo, but the later version included with WinXP does not work with this, you should see an earlier version in the list though, but again xvid or divx is better.

I was able to make the snaps & GameEx & the video snaps work great! I do have one problem. I was running a newer version of Mame32 which I've since found out would not run any of the Metal Slug series, so when snap generator ran through those, I didn't get any video snaps of those games.

I've since pointed GameEx to different version of Mame32, & all the games work fine now. but I don't have the video snaps for those that I missed.

Is there a way to generate video snaps for just a few games without having to go back through all of the other games in the Mame set? Thanks!

It should do that by default, is it not working?

Is there something I need to do to prompt GameEx to recapture the video screen snaps? When I go back to the create video snaps, it gives me the same message as before that it will capture video for every game. I assumed it would start over, but maybe it only captures the ones that are missing?

I'd like to add video snaps for the neo-geo games that didn't get captured the 1st time around (because of the mame version as mentioned above), and would like to replace a few where no in-game video was captured because the game required input before it would move on (i.e. some of the midway games like NBA Jam, where it just shows the OS/Rom-check start-up screen).

Thanks Tom! GameEx is by far the best & easist to use Front Ends & operating environment out there. I registered my copy yesterday am
